Great job on this. Any chance of doing a Lockheed/vega fortress yoke cap to complete the set? I haven't looked at the base cockpit files, so if it is not as easy to change as the pinup, don't worry about it. If it is an easy change, that would be cool.

Thanks, here are the only two versions I have found so far. These are from my newest version of the worn cockpit that is almost ready for testing.

Well here's my feedback for you- I figured I'd make it public since I've nothing critical to say... AMAZING!!!! I especially like the tomato-red throttles, and the empty gauge space in the blank area is far more pleasing to me than a pin-up. The colors are excellent, and the water stains look great. There is so much detail now, I'm gonna have to find myself a really war weary B-17 to fly this with!!! My only thought is to perhaps make both Boeing logo's available for us to choose on the control column, as I prefer the large Boeing logo to the smaller Boeing/Douglas logo. But that is minor, and just a suggestion.

I prefer this over your original, as I like the black surfaces more than the entire green look, but the more individual B-17's we can have the better!

Thanks so much for your hard work!

Joe

ADD: To anybody who has Warbirds original cockpit, you're really gonna want to get this one too!

Thanks Joe, I sent you the alternate yoke cap texture, just put it in your b17 folders that has my 2nd cockpit and overwrite when asked.

Regular bumps welcome for the wonderful cockpit repaint. I still find it funny how few seem to do cockpit repaints given how many people do exterior repaints etc.

Agree completely, as most time is spent inside usually. These are most definitely worth the bump!

And given that we spent maybe 99% of the time inside the cockpit, rather than outside

Anyway, just wanted to say "woaw". That's a very nice work you are doing, screenshots look amazing. I will try those textures as soon as possible.

Thanks,

Thanks Lewis. One reason why there are not more of your great B-17 cockpit repaints is because your cockpits are so detailed and almost everything has it's own texture. There are three or four times the number of textures to change in the B-17 cockpit than there are for the exterior. This is a good thing because most developers use a single texture for several items or a small color texture for a large area making it impossible to add any real detail. The A2A B-17 has the best mapped and textured cockpit of any model I have yet to see in FSX and is a joy to paint, thanks.
