Just installed and have a major glitch...when in full screen, and select accu-feel, it fills the screen and freezes. Cannot exit or move page. Have to keep clicking esc or shut down PC to finally get to end mission to get out. Only way it works is if check off full screen in veiw, edit and save and go back to full screen.

Have new powerful computer and HD widescreen.

Hello,

this could be the old FSX menu crash that happened to a few people when accessing fsx alt menu in full screen mode. Can you please check your video drivers etc are fully updated.

thanks,
Lewis - A2A

Hello,

this might be an old FSX bug. Try running fsx in windowed mode to see if the error still occurs.

thanks,
Lewis

Only occurs in full screen, when I reduce to a window it works fine. Just got FSX a month ago so it is new.

Thanks

Hello,

This is an old FSX bug. From Google searches the work around is to press alt on the menu and then use the keyboard to access the menus and not the mouse. The tab key and the shortcut keys (the letter underlined is pressed to direct access the menu). Other options I have seen ona quick google mention checking that video drivers are up to the latest.

Sorry, this no doubt isnt the news you wanted but it seems the only other work around is to change graphic cards. I myself use to suffer from this error a few years back and I use to play in windowed mode as a workaround (just made the window as big as the full screen). Since I changed graphic cards, (The error for me use to occur on my old Nvidea 7800GTX 3d card) I have not seen this error and it seems to only affect certain models.

thanks,
Lewis - A2A

Hey Lewis...it appears that FSX may not be compatable with win7 and very fast processors. I have had a ton of fatal error warnings. I am going to upgrade to Gold, apparently that works better.

Thanks

Hello,

FSX is compatible with current hardware, I'm on an i7 2600 CPU, 16GB RAM etc and Ive been on Win7 64bit since before release as I am techy in day job so get some MS stufff early at work for testing and what not.

If your getting a ton, could it be an issue with your install? Maybe a reinstall, and make sure FSX is updated to SP2 standard. I believe GOLD is simply FSX preloaded with SP2. You also mentioned a new PC, do you have any other PC intensive programs/games to run? It could be teething trouble with the PC or an unstable system, so might be worth checking out if the issue is related soley to FSX or any program that is pushing your system workload up.

Hi, just mi little cent..

I use to have this very anoying issue..

THe solution was found in a forum long time ago when W7 just came out..

I download the file "UIAutomationCore.dll" from that forum and just copy it to the FSX main folder.

Problem solved not a single menu crash since then..

try to google that file in the fsx context.. I u cannot find it PM your mail and I send it..

Salute!

By new I should clarfy, 6 mons and FSX is only problem.

Right on alfredo, I'll see if I can track it down later today, thanks.

Ordered Gold anyway, has acceleration with more stuff. My retailer took back FSX, so not out of pocket for that.
