I would love to join in the excitement over accu-feel, my problem is that it does not show on the menu bar. I can hit "ALT" for the menu bar to appear or disappear, but the add-on box does not show up. The two dll files (A2A_Feel and AccuFeelMenu) are in the FSX Modules folder, I run FSX under Windows 7.

I have uninstalled accu-feel, reinstalled it, I have closed FSX, reopened it, to no avail. What do i do wrong?

Bernd

Hi Lewis,
thanks for your prompt feedback. I have FSX Acceleration installed and Windows 7 Homex64.
In Microsoft Security Essentials I have under settings now excluded FSX. Then I installed the new AccuFeelMenu.dll from http://dl.dropbox.com and installed it in the Modules folder, replacing the previous one.
Then I started FSX again, still no "add-on" at the menu bar. I was also not asked, when FSX loaded, to accept the new DLL.
When I checked C:\Users\[YOUR USER NAME]\Appdata\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX, the "dll.xmll" file is not there. So I guess that Accu-Feel is not loading for some reason
Then I tried to go to Microsoft to check the latest update for DirectX, which I seem to have already, as the downloader told me so.
After that I installed SimConnect.msi and rebooted my computer.
Still nothing.
Then I uninstalled Accu-Feel, rebooted my computer, reinstalled Accu-Feel and installed again the later version of Accu-FeelMenu.dll in the Modules folder.
Still no joy. The add-on does not show up on the menu bar, after I loaded FSX again. I am also not asked to accept the DLL. :( :(

Rgds,
Bernd

Hello Bernd,

did you restart after installing Accu-feel?

Also you should have the dll.xml as this is part of fsx. Accu-feel simply adds to the file.

thanks,
Lewis

Thanks Lewis,

yes, I did restart my computer after reinstalling Accu-Feel. Strange thing is, I have plenty of .dll files in my FSX, stored in drive D, but no DLL. file in c:/././ FSX. But FSX runs on my system without any problems.

How can I get this file without having to reinstall FSX, which would be a nightmare because of all the add-on scenery such as ORBX I have installed.

Ciao,
Bernd

I just found the dll.xml file on my back-up on a different hard drive. I try to install it, uninstall Accu-Feel, reinstall it, fire up my computer again and see, how this will help :) :)

And then you'll hear from me again...I hope

Ciao,
Bernd

Okie dokie, remember if you are backing up, simply copy/pasting games is not a good idea. They should always be reinstalled using the installer, just in case you have copy/pasted from a backup rather than go through the correct install procedure?

thanks,
Lewis - A2A

Hi Lewis,

I just installed the missing dll.xml file via copy/paste from my other hard drive, where I keep my back-ups (after a hard disk crash on my system a few months back, FSX was properly installed again using the original FSX DVD's). Then I reinstalled accu-feel, fired up my pc again and voila, when I started FSX I was asked to accept your files.

That put a huge smile on my face, because things were looking up, I thought. I then loaded the default C172, saw your add-on in the menu bar, opened the door in flight and wow, what a difference!

I'm a happy camper now, especially as I didn't have to reinstall FSX again!

Thanks again Lewis for pointing out the missing dll.xml file on my system and especially for your speedy replies. It's very much appreciated!!

Ciao,
Bernd

You bet I'll do :D :D

I have a very small issue with one of your planes (the FS9 long-nose FW190, which I'd love to run in FSX), but I will post that later in the proper forum. All your other planes I have function superbly, but I still run them without accu-sim. I haven't made that final transition yet

Ciao,
Bernd

Got the menu to appear by rerunning FSUIPC4 exe. Both FSUIPC and Accufeel are now showing in the menu.
Upon restarting FSX it asked if I would accept the new .dll and all is fine now.

Jose,

Can you tell us exactly what you did to resolve this issue?

Also, please download and run this utility:
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/34075223/onlin ... Dr_A2A.exe

A little black window will appear with a blinking cursor. This will take about 60 seconds or more to complete. Once this is done, you will have a "Dr_A2A_Report" file next to the Dr_A2A.exe program. Email this to doctor@a2asimulations.com.

In your email, please copy and paste the URL link to this forum post.

Scott.
