Hello everyone,
I'm new to this forum stuff, so please excuse any protocol (sp?) errors. I use W7, FSX Acc, a GTX 480, and a Creative SBX-Fi. I have other AccuSim products, but I just got around to purchasing the B-17 with AccuSim. The first flight I made it about two hours before bsod. The next day (today) I opened up FSX to a saved flight (on runway), bsod before take off multiple times. Tried reinstalling and saw repair option, so I tried that, no luck. I resarted FSX and changed aircraft and made a short flight, landed and changed aircraft back to the B-17. I then had about an hour and a half flight without a problem. I have no problems with any other aircraft. I went through a number of pages on this forum and found some similar threads. The one about saving a certain file elsewhere and then deleting it from its original location looked interesting, but the was no information on what that file is supposed to do, so it looked a little dangerous to me.
Also, while I was repairing/overinstalling the plane, one time I went to "select aircraft" and found two B-17's instead of four. I did not choose either but booted to my previously saved (and ill fated) flight and upon pressing the Shift2,3 etc. keys got 2D panels, not notes. No, I'm not using any kind of "substances".
Well I hope I've included enough info and I appreciate any help you might have for me. By the way, I love your products, as a former pilot I find your attention to detail and commitment to excellence just makes me keep coming back for more.

Sincerely,
Stephen Decatur

Never had something similar ! Sounds like a driver sollision at first instance. However some of the failures are really absolutely new to me. Never heard of missing A/C in the selection GUI (apart from wrongly modified aircraft.cfg :D ). How about wrong or corrupted sound drivers? Wasn't there some issue with the Creative SBX-FI ? That's all I can imagine... Aren't we lucky people that have not to cope with such oddities  ?

Perform a complete uninstall of the B-17 and see how your FSX runs without. It sounds like your FSX is corrupted esp re: the GUI issues and the 2d panel issues, without manually opening this, theres no way 4 would have shown up unless FSX was well and truly going bonkers. Could it be some security software playing havoc with FSX?

Thank you both very much for your replies. I will try your suggestions, but since its been an hour and one half since last bsod I may first just see how long I can go. By the way, the information recieved on the bsod's said something about a page file error in a non page file area. Sorry for leaving this out. Will let you know how I make out.
Thanks again,
Stephen Decatur
