Hello,

looks like the Microsoft dx portion of the install has failed on your machine. Please try the alternative MS offer which can be found in our FAQ here;

viewtopic.php?f=89&t=28627

thanks,
Lewis

Scott, I had already tried the solution you suggested above before I posted my problem but, I tried it again with same results. I am still getting same error message!

What else can I try to fix my problem?

Chief

You are getting a directX error message from the installer, even when you hit CANCEL when the directx installer comes up?

Hitting cancel doesn't stop anything, it just keeps going. The only way I can get out of the (Black) Splash screen is to go to task manger to stop it, and clear my screen. And when it comes back to the desk top; I get a message that Accu-Feek has been installed successfully, which of course it hasn't.

OK, so you run the installer and everything seems OK until you see the install directx screen. Then, whatever you do after that screen (hitting OK or cancel), creates this black screen?

Scott.

Check out my .dll file. Is there a problem with it? and if so how do I fix it?

Chief, this is showing Accu-Feel has installed. Do you have an A2A_Feel.dll in your FSX / MODULES folder?

If you end task when that directx screen comes up, these two things will not happen:

- The dll.xml will not be written
- The shortcut to the manual will not be put in your start menu

The important question here is:
After you edit your dll.xml, did you get confirmation for both dll's when you ran fsx?

Scott.

Please can anyone help me understand the last response to my statement above the response? I am failing to see how it relates to my statement. Thank you.

Chief,

What we know from this topic is you have an error message during the installation. We have also confirmed that you have the dll's in your MODULES folder, and you have posted your dll.xml file contents.

So from the above, everything looks as if it was installed OK. So there is no need to run the installer anymore.

What is concerning me is, you said in response to Lewis pointing you to the online Microsoft DirectX installer, that "I am still getting same error message! " This is telling us there is an issue with your machine and DirectX.

Just to confirm, go to this link and run this DirectX installer:
http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=35

Scott.

Hi Scott,

Thanks for the reply, just to clarify Accu Feel is installed I can see the Accu Feel Control Panel I select the settings as per instructions but, when I get in the plane and taxi over the ground open doors etc at 100% setting for Wind volume etc. It is no different than it is without Accu feel. Also when I change planes I have to set the Control Panel again. Not only is it not working on one plane but it is not saving the settings for the plane it was set for.
Its been at least 2 weeks since I bought this program and I am still unable to get a solution for my problem.

I did reinstall DirectX again for about the 4th time, obvioulsy that is not the problem.

I would appreciate it if you and other support please help me.

Chief
