I recently started having issues with my TrackIR5 lagging and being stuttery while playing FSX with the Accusim Spitfire. I also recently purchased the Accufeel addon and also I recently bought FS Force to go along with my G940 flight system. At first I thought that the problem was my system was taxed for resources, so I reduced autogen and my monitor resolution and did some other things with reducing traffic to none and some of the other recommended measures for improving resource allocation. I also stopped as many of the processes that I could and the Windows firewall and my virus software just to see if I could eliminate the problem. No matter what I did the lag and stutter remained. I then shut off accufeel and FS Force so that only the accusim was in competition with TrackIR. Still had the same issue. Now, I also have the Piper Cub and this lag and stutter also occurred with that aircraft. I have Realair Spitfire and the *SPAM* P51. With everything running, I mean my original resolution and normal setup settings, the lag and stutter disappeared and TrackIR worked fine. I might also mention that I fly IL2 1946 and the TrackIR works fine in that also. The only thing I can conclude is that the accusim aircraft are causing the lag and stutter, but I don't know how to fix the issue. Perhaps someone can give me some guidance? I love accusim and accufeel and FS Force together and I want to continue to use them. One last question; does Accusim, Accufeel, TrackIR and FS Force all compete for bandwidth through Simconnect? I know that FS Force uses Simconnect to work. The others I do not know. Any help or insight is greatly appreciated.

My system specs:
Win 7 64x Professional
Intel Duo Core 2 E8400 @ 3.0 gHz
8 Gigs DDR Ram @ 800 Hz clockspeed
GTX 560 Overclocked with 2 Gig DDR5 Ram
Creative Labs Audigy 4 sound card
Samsung 27" LCD HDMI monitor with 1920X1080 native resolution

I wish I could point you at a direct answer and solution, but I have not had any problems. That's a tough one. I can suggest updating your sound driver, but that's a slim shot in the dark.

Well, I discovered the problem and it is not my sound card drivers or even my sound card. It's Accufeel. I tried changing sound card drivers and eventually changed to my on-board sound but it didn't work out, no external sounds at all. So I changed back to my sound card. In the process, last night I started having lag free TrackIR. I flew the Spitfire Mk Ia for several hours and had a great flight with no lag problems at all with TrackIR. Today I realized that Accufeel had somehow not started when I intiated FSX. With the Accusim aircraft, because its built in, I usually shut Accufeel down. But, even though I shut down Accufeel in the game, I still experienced lag. So I did a test, I reinstalled Accufeel and bang, the lag was back. I uninstalled Accufeel and no lag on TrackIR just as before. So the problem is Accufeel is conflicting with my TrackIR, probably by taxing my Simconnect bandwidth somehow. This is too bad because I thought Accufeel was a great add-on. I will have to wait until I get an upgraded computer with more power and then I'll try again and see if the conflict goes away. For now, Accufeel remains off the computer.

Interesting info. Something to keep in mind is the ever-changing situation with MS Windows users switching from XP to W7 (and even the ill-fated Vista). I recently updated my 10yo computer to W7 and have few problems, but my other XP machine doesn't behave the same with some programs.
Obviously, they won't perform the same. But recently I ran into some issues with a free demo of Armed Assault 2 on my new machine. The sound wasn't working at all. What fixed the problem was actually the installation of MS FLIGHT.
I don't care for FLIGHT yet as it's not up to our standards, but the installation of it made Windows 7 install sound drivers that weren't included in any automatic updates, and it fixed other programs.

Has anyone else run into a similar situation?

Mountain, what sound card do you use? I have an Audigy 4 card with the latest Creative Labs Win 7 64 bit drivers. When I fly the A2A Spitfire, I sometimes experience sound cutouts. I wonder if this is a related problem? I've thought about getting a Xfi sound card but I've read some forum comments that indicates issues with the card.

Disable your sound card and if your MB has an onboard sound card try that, best way to prove a fault :-)
I used to all ways get a sound card and about 8 years ago I got a fault on my card. Now I use the onboard sound on all of my PC's

It would be nice if someone from A2A addressed this issue. Sound cards or drivers have nothing to do with this problem.

Hello Salty,

we have looked into this and found no issues with the Accu-Feel and Track IR, works fine across the board from my TIR3Pro to testers TIR5's and 4's.

Lewis,

What did you do? What did you look into? Your answer doesn't give me any clues as where or how I might resolve the issue. Saying you looked into it is no answer at all. I realize that Accufeel is only $15.00 so maybe more support isn't justified in your eyes. However, I have purchased three Accusim aircraft at $50.00 a pop so you might consider that I am a loyal customer. However, if it comes to either TrackIR or Accufeel, TrackIR will win so Accufeel is still off my hard drive. And TrackIR works fine.

When he says he "looked into it", I suppose he looked at the code they wrote, thus indicating trackir should not have any issues with accufeel.
But: as Norforce said, try removing your audiocard and running your audio on the onboard audio. THIS has been known to create issues! Have you tried disabling it?

Hello,

we looked into it by installing TrackIR and have experienced no issues across multiple systems, with multiple software variants on multiple TrackIR versions. There must be something specific to your system causing an error. When it comes to pauses it can often be a security issue with anti-virus or somesuch. However I cannot really provide much more than support than this as Ive no idea why your particular system would be having this error with TrackIR and Accu-feel.

I'd suggest looking in anti virus/security software + default windows security settings, particular where accu-feel + traick IR is installed.

thanks,
Lewis
