I just downloaded this aircraft this weekend and it's great but I can't use it. Each time I retract the landing gear Windows Crashes to the bsod. Any ideas? I'm running windows 7 on an alienware aurora R4. I have never had this issue with any aircraft before and I have plenty of add ons. it's a high end system so no issues there. Nvidia 580 card.

I get this as my error-
BCCode: 50

BCP1: FFFFFFFF81070000

BCP2: 0000000000000000

BCP3: FFFFF800050A1868

BCP4: 0000000000000005

OS Version: 6_1_7601

Service Pack: 1_0

Product: 768_1

Files that help describe the problem:

C:\Windows\Minidump\051512-35147-01.dmp

C:\Users\Nelson\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-45989-0.sysdata.xml

I've aleady checked that everything is up to date hardware wise.

Hello,

can you please double check your sound hardware, these issues tend to be sound driver related.

thanks,
Lewis

Yes I checked and everything is up to date and working fine. This appears to be the Sound Blaster issue. I tried the Pax drivers and for a few days things were fine however last night it returned so other than pulling the sound card (which is not an option) I see no solution to this.

As of late, Soundblaster drivers have been terrible, support next to nil. For me it was since they decided to shut off most of the features of older cards in newer operating systems. I had an old Audigy II platinum, which was rendered next to unusable in windows vista on up. I was forced to use drivers made by "DanielK". I still ended up with bluescreens on many occasions no matter what drivers I had used. For the story look up "DanielK soundblaster drivers" and you can see what the whole ordeal was about.

My only solutions was to pull the card out and go to onboard sound, not that that is not without issues.. When I can afford another sound solution, it certainly will not be from Creative Labs.

Sad that a card I spend around 250 dollars on is now sitting in the computer part junk-pile..

If you go in the market for a new soundcard, I would steer clear of Creative Labs.. and their unmarked "Rocketfish" cards. All in my personal opinion based on lots of lost time and personal experience.

EDIT: Have you considered trying older drivers for your card... seems to work with video cards as well in some instances.

Frankly I have never had this issue before and I have been using MS Flight Sims for many years and have loads of add on aircraft with FSX nor have I seen it reported on any flight sim forum.

Imagine going and buying a new car and taking it down to an audio shop to get a better radio and they couldn't install it and the radio guy said go get another car.

There is some incompatibility here between this software title and the soundblaster cards and creative isn't going to do anything to address what to them is a gnat on a dinosaur so unless A2A comes up with a fix the yank the card fix in untenable to me.

I'm not trying to bash A2A here I have other titles from them and think they are a great outfit with really superior products but I'm just saying they have an issue here.

The problem generally occurs with OpenAL, a sound system that some other developers have also used in the past, such as CaptainSim. I myself experienced similar issues with a Sound Blaster Audigy, first with Captain Sims products and then again with A2A. There were also a few blue screens occurring from various video games, as OpenAL and similar standards were being applied that apparently Creative didn't bother to keep up to date with (which is funny because OpenAL IS a creative product!). Most new A2A products no longer utilize OpenAL, however a handful of the older Accu-Simmed products still do.

When I finally removed my Sound Blaster, and it was painful mind you, I found that many issues on my computer cleared up. Creative has really fallen behind the times, and I have found no significant improvements other than their software mixer that was able to topple my on-board audio system. Back in the day to truly experience the quality of audio available in games it was required to have a sound card. Some games even improved in speed by offloading the audio to the card and letting the card utilize its own memory to generate the sound. Those days unfortunately have been essentially over since at least 2003 or 2004, which corresponds closely to the demise of Creative's sound card technology. Am I happy I finally got rid of my expensive sound card? At first, absolutely not as I have owned many Creative cards over the years... in the long run, I wished I had never bought the damn thing.

Anyways, just ranting.
