Did the Spitfire Mk Ia get a bubble canopy in BoB? I have read a few different things on the subject which contradict each other.

1. Spitfire Mk Ia got a bubble canopy OR:

2. Spitfire Mk Ia got a Malcolm Hood OR:

3. Spitfire Mk Ia got a slight dome in its canopy to give the pilot's head more room

4. Malcolm Hood was named after the manufacturer OR:

5. Malcolm Hood was named after a Lt. Malcolm who came up with the idea

So can anyone give me a rundown on the timeline progression of bubble canopies, and tell me which, if any, were around during the BoB?

I haven't played BOB2 in a while, but I can answer some of these questions.

1,2) The Spitfire MK1a received the "Malcolm Hood." The Spitfire did not receive the bubble canopy until later in the war and were fairly problematic to create at first until advances in production of the materials had been made.
3) The Malcolm Hood is slightly domed, which gives more room and better visibility from the cockpit.
4,5) The Malcolm Hood was named after R Malcolm & Company, the manufacturer.

The Malcolm Hood was prevalent during the Battle of Britain. Prior to the MK1a, Spitfires typically had a straight hood and at one point even a wooden fixed pitch prop (such as those used during the evacuation of Dunkirk).
