Howdy everyone!,

I've been having this really strange problem .. I take off.. and about 10 minutes into my flight, the P-51 starts to buffet in and out.. and then it gets a tad faster (the buffeting) progressively.. then it just blacks the screen, flightsimulator is still running in the background and I can quit.. but I can no longer see the image. Thank you for any assistance. This has happened to me with 3 consecutive flights.

You're not the first victim of hypoxia in an A2A Accu-Sim aircraft but
I suspect you won't do THAT again

You should have also heard the heavy breathing and gasping for air just
before you went to sleep i believe.

Gypsy Baron is correct; if you forget to put your mask on at altitude then hypoxia will sneek up on you! I purposely flew without my oxygen mask on to see the effects and the screen went black and there was no recovery, Dead, Dead, Dead! I was surprised the maintenance hanger did not show the plane destroyed.

Keep the shiny side up and the dirty side down!

How do you apply the oxygen?
Got it set at 100% but am still passing out at alt above 20000 after about 5 mins flight

Don't fiddle with the knobs. On the oxygen regulator there is a 100% oxygen paddle and an emergency valve. These are used in appropriate cases. For normal flight all you would need to do is put on your mask. The system is an "on demand" type, meaning that as you breath normally it will supply oxygen to you. At higher altitudes simply put on the mask and check for blinker operation. If you see the blinker moving, you are being supplied oxygen. Check it every once in a while for operation and content after you put it on and that's it.

100% oxygen feed (or even continuous flow emergency feed) won't help you if you haven't donned your mask. :p

You can don you mask in virtual cockpit by clicking the hose once. Just don't click it twice as it will take off the mask. I've several times managed to get hypoxia when I was positively sure I had clicked the oxygen hose... but probably either double clicked, or mis-clicked it later, or had my mouse malfunction and cause a double click on singular click (failure of mouse's debounce circuitry). It's quite easy to take off the mask without noticing it as there's no visual hint of it being on, and unlike in Spitfire, the hose is located next to some switches.

The other method of donning your mask is via SHIFT+3 panel. Unlike virtual cockpit, you can also check whether you have mask on. If mask is on, the text line is highlighted.

I forget the exact figures but setting "100% Oxygen" will use up the entire
supply very quickly. In the "Emergency" position, even quicker....a mater of minutes!

But there are very audible and quite different audio cues when donning the mask and taking it off. That shouldn't go unnoticed, even with the engine running.

On checking the blinker I noticed that the oxygen tank guage was showing empty.
Seems I made a rather silly error as I had not refilled the oxygen tank

This is exactly what I did.. I forgot to fill it.. and I had music on in the background and missed out on him breathing really hard.
