"This update applies to the Accu-Sim Spitfire, P-40, and P-51"

I own the following A2A products :

- wop3 sptifire + Accu-sim
- wop3 P47 + Accu-sim
- wop2 P51 (not the wop3 new version)

can I apply this "bundle" update just for the Accu-Sim Spitfire without owning the Accu-Sims for P40 and P51 ?

BTW should I keep the Wings of Power II folder located in :

C:/Program Files (*86)/ Wings of Power II/wings/backup ?

(the C drive is not he one where FSX is installed)

what is that specific backup that was created, if I'm right, just after the wop2 P51 installation ?

Thanks

Yes, you can install this update if you only have the Spitfire.

The backup makes a copy of your Spitfire's aircraft.cfg file before the new .cfg from the patch is installed. This is really only important if you have some custom repaints listed in your pre-patch aircraft.cfg and you forgot to make a copy of that file before you installed the patch. There might be some other files copied to the backup folder but I don't remember what they might be. You'd have to manually copy or move these backed up files to your FSX Simobjects folder to restore them anyhow, so it really doesn't matter where the backup folder is.

Let's suppose I decide to acquire the WoP3 P51+ Accu-sim.

Can I run again the Core Accu-Sim Update v.1.4 after it has been already run to update the Accu-Sim Spitfire ?

Yes. And you should run it because the Mustang ships as v1.3.

"This update applies to the Accu-Sim Spitfire, P-40, and P-51"

in other words, it does not apply to the P47 Razorback.

So, my question : are you planning to release a specific update for the P47. Compared to the others Accu-Sims (Spit, P-40, and P-51) the P47's is working fine except some features are not available : the jack-up option for example (not to mention the rest), the maintenance hangar that is rather succint (no engine maintenance, no compression test), just some info about the a/c + an overhaul option.

Hello,

no update is planned for the P47 at this time. The P-40, 51 and Spitfire are all on the same Acu-sim Core engine. The P-47 is an older product and so an older generation of Accu-sim and not on the core system.

I hope they come up with some compromise with vibration effect. While Spitfire MkI had a bit too much vibration with old Core and the vibration seemed quite on/off, the current vibration effect is near non-existent, leaving a sterile feel. Maybe if the vibration didn't go away completely but a trace would be left? Would it hurt FPS to not disable the effect and just gradually tone it down with increased rpm or decreased torque/MP? (Or is it even disabled as it is or is the vibration modeling still on even if vibration amounts to zero, i.e would it cost any FPS to add a faint trace of it to all flying conditions?)

I have hopes the vibration modeling will be tuned in future, like the oil pressure "cold/warm" duality was re-modeled into continuous, the vibration modeling requires a similar treatment.

There was the dev video released on August. Will there soon be Core Update v1.5 or is it going to be so extensive update that it's going to take even further to release?

The next core update with come with the P-51 modern / civilian release, and will have a few nice improvements. And guys, I don't want to be harassed on what is or isn't in this update (we have been updating the physics vibration system). These core aircraft are light years ahead of anything on the market and we are following a very clear and meaningful path forward with our core Accu-Sim technology.

Scott.

Yeah, that is HUGE.

Very understandable. Because the moment you promise something to be included, solved or improved that hasn't passed full testing - then you're committed to fixing it before releasing - and likely to get delays. Promises are better made afterwards rather than beforehand.
