It will be next...after the Starfighter. The Starfighter is like the Spitfire: It is a testbed for new systems, technologies, and the engine. Because the F-104 share's the General Electric J79 engine with the F-4 Phantom, it can be a test for new technologies, sou the coup d' gras (F-4) will be perfect. Its like with the Spitfire and Mustang; you get two cool planes, and its hard to tell one's a testbed!

Just FYI, the Spitfire is next. Another variant anyway. Then the Starfighter.

That is...of course...how it was planned the last I had heard...

According to Scott in the FSBreak interview, they don't know when the Spitfire Mk.V will be released. The F-104 is next, not the Mk.V

This is the one aircraft I am looking forward to the most..IMO the Phantom is to the jet age just as the Mustang was to the prop age :)

I was searching around to learn more about the F-4 Phantom and some photos reminded me of a cool feature back in FS2004.
Captain Sim's C-130 had a re-fuelling mode (FS9 only- FSX dropped it) that would call by radio, a tanker to line up with your
rough current position and allow in-air re-fuel and I thought that would be a great feature for the upcoming F-4.

As a retired USAF Jet Eng Mech, I spent a great deal of time with the GEJ79-15's and the -17's. I have been waiting for the F4 for how long? From A2A :D I hope they render the D-G models.

-15s were the howlers with BLC active, where as the -17s were not but you still got a slight howl to it. Also In the mid 80s we were performing low smoke conversions to the -17's and it was not out of the ordinary to see a F4 with one of each. Eventualy the low smoke conversions became smokers again but by that time the F16-C/D's were inbound. I was with the 52nd TFW, Spangdahlem AB FRG as it was known then, the last base to have the "G" model's "Wild Weasel" before they were phased out and replaced by the F-16. "Long live the spirit of "Yellow Section". I think George AFB still had a active wing untill we made the transition someone can keep me honest on that.

If A2A ever finishes this project and it is on par with the rest of the accusim products, no one will be able to touch it. Its a very complicated aircraft the " Flying Brick", I can only imagine the work to model it.

"Phantoms Forever"

PS the "phantom bites" still exist to this day as a reminder"

I am sorry for so few updates on projects in development, but it mostly because we are simply working around the clock. We also don't like posting too much until a product is in beta, but as I promised earlier this week, here are three shots of our Phantom in progress.
