Fellow pilots:
I am amazed at the a2a sims. Acusim is incredible in its detail. I just got the P-40 and would like to try mustang and t-bolt. I just can't work around my problem w FSX. When I in the pit, the view is zoomed in too much. I use tir and it works great with RoF, Il2, FC2 ect. My question is, how do I zoom in/out. Does FSX have zoom like il2, or is there a full zoom like in lock on? What ingame keys do I need to assign?
I have tried using TIR zoom and assigning keys to move point of view fwd and back. This has not fixed my problem.

Keep up the good work A2A. Can't wait to fly the 'Stang!

Default zoom - for me - is persistent, i.e. if you save the flight, and make that default; your zoom level will revert to that next time you load FSX.

I like to have 0.70 zoom, I use TIR5, to keep the zoom at this level each time I load FSX, I loaded my favourite airport, used a simple default FSX aircraft, in this case the C-172, and zoomed to 0.70 using the - and + keys adjacent to the backspace key, then saved this 'flight' and ticked it as default.

To recap;

> zoom can be adjusted with - and + keys near the backspace key.
> saving the flight as default once you've got your desired zoom level, will be the set zoom level when you next load FSX.

Hope this helps,

John.

- edit - I should add that this is the native FSX zoom function with - and +

Guys, I think we are off on the wrong foot. What is the controls for Zoom in and Zoom out called in the Controls Menu?

You'll find the key binding under;

Event category: Simulator events

Selection (decrease) -
Selection (increase) =

The - and = are the default bindings, you could add Joystick bindings too, but may need to move the 'Repeat' slider right to make it easier to use, otherwise you need to repeatedly press the assigned Joystick button, which may be a little time consuming.

Awesome, I have it at last! Thanks to all and especially Rusty Lock for getting me in the game. I am using a TM Warthog so I program my own keys. However I just needed to know what to program. I am glad I asked 'cos I would have never got that.

Thanks all

Maico
