I've been running A2a WOP-3 P-47 successfully for several months without any problems. Today I couldn't get it to start. When I try to select it as a freeflight aircraft, the image shows up in the FSX opening screen, but it does not move ( rotate) as it's supposed to, and FSX stops responding. If I shut FSX down, and select another aircraft such as the default types ( and even the A2a P-51 or B-17 ) , they load properly and everything is fine.
I have even tried uninstalling Wop P-47 and then reinstalling it ,but it still does the same thing.
Does anyone have a fix for this ???

Did you try removing the dat file after the uninstall and before the reinstall?

The dat files for the P-47 models are in the main FSX directory, the A2A folder, then the P47 folder.

Also, did you try loading each of the different P-47 models?

Also be sure to apply the updates in the correct order, with the core update last.

Hi Gypsy Baron
Iv'e tried all of your suggestions but it still won't work --- none of the P-47 models function. When I select a P-47 model,
it shows up in the FSX opening screen, but when you click on it to fly, FSX just locks-up and stops running.

I should also mention that I'm not running the AcuSim version of the P-47 program. Also, since the last time I ran the P-47 program successfuly , I added
the Accu-Feel global FSX Enhancement program to my computer and it was running fine with no problems on Default Aircraft or the ACUSIM
B-17 and P-51 programs.

Do you have any other ideas ???

The core update doesn't affect the P-47.

The things that are common to all three P-47 models are the files in the "WoP3_P47D_share" folder and the
panel folder in the "WoP3_P47D-20" model olus in the "Gauges" folder the "WoP3_P47s.dll" and "WoP3_p47sound.dll".

I would uninstall the P-47 again and then insure that all the files and folders related to that aircraft are removed.
Particularly those 'common' files and the 2 dll files in the gauge folder. If you have any P-47 repaints, keep those
texture folders for later re-installation.

Then reinstall the P47D and see what happens. It is possible that your previous uninstall left something behind that didn't
get overwritten when you reinstalled. But first, read below.

The other item that may be involved is the Accu-Feel setup. Before you try flying the P47 again after the
uninstall/reinstall process, go into the folder that contains the Accu-Feel settings and remove those for the P47.
(I'll have to reboot to my Win7 partition to find the location of those files. I'll edit this post after that)

EDIT: OK, the Accu-Feel dat files are in folders in your "My Documents\A2A\FSX\Feel" folder. There should be
folders for each aircraft you have flown since installing Accu-Feel. Delete any P-47D folders you find there.
If there are NO P-47D folders there, make a note of that since that would mean that the fsx 'hang' occurred
before Accu-Feel created a dat file for the P-47D. That info might be helpful in trying to pinpoint the problem.

Ah, I understood it covered Accu-Sim for the P-47, so was needed, ok noted.

I would ignore Accu:Feel for now. Its just co-incidence that the P-47 has stopped for you when this was installed. The tweo products are not linked and work flawless together (Hence uninstalling accu-feel not having any effect on the issue you are experiencing).

Apart from Accu-feel is there anything else that you may have changed system wise, or FSX wise since the P-47 last worked ok? Also on the reinstall upon uninstalling the P-47 did you dlete the accusim logs and restart the system and then reinstall? (If using 64bit win7 right click the installer and select run as administrator)

Hi Lewis;

Where do I find the Acusim " logs" , and why would it be involved if I'm not running the Acusim version of WoP p-47 ???

By the way, I,m running FSX w/SP-2 Acceleration on a Windows-32 Vista system.

Hi Lewis again:

I just remembered that the only change I made on the computer was installing the WOP B-17 program w/o Acusim.

Sorry my mistake re: accusim logs.

Have you changed anything else like soundcard on the system etc? Can you just check that your soundcard drivers are up to date and run this direct X 9 installer to check you have the latest;

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download ... aspx?id=35

Also when selecting the P-47 have you tried waiting for the aircraft to start circling/rotateing in the preview window before you click fly?

Hi Lewis:

Iv'e made no changes to my system. When I select the P-47 to fly, it shows only a head-on black and white stationary view of the plane.
It does not circle or roatate. After several seconds the program then locks up and I can only shut it down with Windows "task manager".

Additionally, when flying another default or add-on plane, if I click on the select a different aircraft option at the top of the screen, the screen immediatly
goes black and my computer locks up.

Any help with this will be appreciated

This is really weird, but not un heard off. Fromt he sounds of it is a display issue, so hardware wise that the graphics card. Maybe try grabbing the latest drivers for your 3d card. Might be worth also checking the card itself is ok, not clogged with dust etc.

Hi Lewis:
This morning I tried the following:
a. Removing and reinstalling FSX with SP-1 and SP-2 but not Accelleration.
b. Changing drivers on my EVGA GTX-560 display card to both newer and older versions.
c. Downloading the WOP-3 P-47 program again and installing it
d. Blowing out the " dust " on my computers interior.
e. Said three Hail-Mary's
d. Tried to get the P-47 open on the Flight Sim screen , BUT IT STLL WON'T WORK, and FSX locks up
and then shuts down.

Bearing in mind that ALL other aircraft work fine, in my system, what do you suggest I do now ???

Richard,

This is likely a conflict with your sound card / drivers. Do you know what sound card or built-in sound you are using?

Here is a post on the creative labs cards:
