I thought I would throw this out there for all the Texas girl's and guy's of our community,to see who might attend. Maybe meet up somewhere there out there, and introduce ourselves to each other,I know Chris(CapFlyer) is from here close to me,but not sure about anyone else. The Canadian Snowbird's I have never seen them preform.

Best Regards

Mark S.

Interesting... They let you in free, but they suck your wallet dry for parking.

Actually, it's a pretty good deal. Just don't go alone. It's $20 per carload. If you put 4 people in the car, that's $5 each. Pretty good price if you ask me. That's actually the normal practice around here. You are charged $10-$20 a carload (as many as you fit into that car, although sometimes they'll ask for "2 carloads" for like 12 pax vans that are full for obvious reasons) for parking and that's it. The Vectren-Dayton Airshow in Ohio charges both for parking ($5) and for the show ($10), so you're already paying more no matter how you go about it, so it's not really that bad.

I hope to make the airshow this year, but I'm working noon to midnight on Saturdays right now, so if I go it'll probably be Sunday unless my schedule changes again between now and then, which I won't doubt.

Should be a good one guy's. I thought the "Blue Angels" were there this year,as you can see I am partial towards them(signature below). Thunderbirds put on a good one,the most exciting too me is the Canadian Snowbird's,never seen them preform.

Going to be a good one

I saw the Snowbirds for the first time this summer. It is a very different kind of display to the Thunderbirds or Blues. While the USAF and USN teams put on a high intensity show which is loud and keeps your head on a swivel looking for the sneak pass, the Snowbirds are more like an aerial ballet. The jets are much slower and to me quieter than even an L-39. They make a lot of formation passes and 'close' passes from the opposing solos. My favorite thing they did (and I have no idea of the actual name of the move) is the 3 plane 'disappearing' pass, where 3 aircraft appear to the eye as just one.

Regardless of their performance differences, the Canadians put on a really enjoyable display!

Enjoy the show!

Joe
