Mike?

EDIT 5/20/2012. Removed the direct image because I read somewhere today that Airliners.net doesn't like it if you actually post the picture itself, but the links alone are ok. The picture is of a Qantas 737-800 called Yananyi Dreaming

:P :P :P :P :P

Cheers guys, thanks for the encouragement. This is slow going, but I warned you it would be.

Ha ha ha ha! I think I had a minor seizure just looking at that Qantas 737. Not enough whiskey in the world to give me the patience for that one. (I made a run to Wisconsin this weekend and I believe I purchased the last 2 bottles of Paddy within 100 miles of Chicago... small victories)

Ronnie, you get a2a to make a C-46 and I'll gladly paint it for Buffalo and Everts. I think this will be my only 377 paint. I have a few B-17s in line, and I'm still trying to make several 390th BG aircraft in AI for Ian's Framlingham/Parham airfield.

Someone may have mentioned a Mustang in development too, but it is unclear. :D

A little more detail work getting left and right to line up, then on to the wings and the dreaded spec files.
I'll get another W.I.P. pic posted soon.

I'm sorry I got really bogged down on this one and almost punted. Thankfully every time I watch an episode of Ice pilots I get re-inspired... then the scope of the paint sucks the life right back out of me.
Long story short, I think she's done. A few shakedown flights and I'll post it.

I will never attempt a 377 paint again...

Seriously, Paul (warbirds) and Big Juicy Spider have paints rediculously better than this one. (and loads more patience)
At least the idea of a Buffalo Airways 377 is cool. I'll post it to my site in the next day or so.

Thanks Lewis for the pep talk. I was a bit winey that day. I went out and bought a new computer, loaded on FSX and photoshop and completely re-did the paint in one night. She's done and ready for others to fly. :) Having been on the low end of the A2A computer curve, I have to say these aircraft are even better than I ever thought. It is amazing the detail and level of control when you don't stutter on flare or have to set the graphics extremely low.

Ok off the soap box, and onto the tarmac...

I tweaked the colors a bit based on myriad pictures and one decal sheet I was able to find on the web.

There are not many (if any) 377 paints out there that have any kind of stripe on the lower 1/3 of the nose. This area is very tricky to get to line up properly. Only BJS can tell if it is off a pixel or not

I really truly was sick of this paint about a week ago... Moral of the story: if you're on the fence about getting a new FSX rig, don't wait like I did. It is amazing.

Someone please download it ;). https://dl.dropbox.com/u/91409118/texture.buffalo.zip

Haha, how on earth did I not realise that it was the same Mike from Mike's repaints I'll never know. I blame the early start this morning

Slightly off topic: Mike, what scenery is that?...assuming it's not default since there are other Buffalo a/c in the images.

Cheers!

Hey guys! First off, thanks! I posted the dropbox link before it had finished uploading. You were just too quick to try it. It is working fine at the moment.

Ron pointed out that in my 3am haze, I left the "install into your B17g folder" text in the readme. I'll fix that tonight. In the meantime you guys are smart enough to figure it out. :)

Two different scenery packages:
Hay River from Flight Ontario http://flightontario.com/dl_fsx_listing.htm
and
Yellowknife CYZF
I got from one of the usual suspects (flightsim avsim etc) Can't find the link at the moment, but I'll post it when I do.

EDIT: found it... http://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/content.php?106-Search-Results&cm=LISTFILES

The freeware C-46 that is floating around out there works well too, and has a nice buffalo paint scheme. Nowhere near a2a quality, but we knew that. http://www.simviation.com/fsxvintage7.htm
