Hi guys ...
My first Post ... :D
I have just discovered this fabulous game ... I am loving it !

A big thanks to all that helped make the game great !

I play using three screens ... I thought some of you might like to see a few screenshots ...
As you can see I haven't got too far into the game ... I'm still learning ... :D

Click the screenshots to see them full size ...

4:3 without using the maximum FOV ...
Image

TripleHead ... 3840x1024
As you can see the FOV does not go quite wide enough to match the 4:3 shots and this is using the maximum FOV setting of 110 ...
It would be better if it could go up to about 140-150 such that you could see both the instrument panel and wind shield of aircraft as you can when
using a 4:3 screen and the maximum FOV.

Set up the FOV ... maximum FOV is 110 ... it is fine but would be better if it could go up to about 140-150.
Image

Image

No cockpit view looks bad to me ... the cross-hair is very stretched.
Notice the Artificial Horizon (top right) is messed up for all views but it is still usable. This screenshot clearly shows the problem.

tried the 110 field of view that you show. I like it! Gives one a much better view out of the cockpit and increases situational awareness immensely. 8) In a flight sim where you really aren't actually in the cockpit this is a BIG HELP. :)

wish I had the "three screen setup" though.. :)

Thanks for the welcome and glad you like the pics ... :D

There is lots here on the forum for me to read and learn ... hints ... tips ... tech stuff ... all in all a great resource !

Anyone know of any way to increase that maximum FOV ?
If not ... is there any chance of an increase to the maximum FOV in a future game patch ?

It is not absolutely necessary but it would be nice to have ... 8)

Welcome to BoBII, Paddywack :)

If you are new, you may have missed that there is a separate download to introduce variation to the skins and lettercodes. It's called 'Multiskin'.

What displays are you using for this; three 19"LCDs?

The max FOV limit would need to be raised in the code. No reason why it couldn't be done, I would imagine.

Stalkervision - you've been on BoB2 a while now and only NOW did you find out about being able to go to 110 FOV? There may be other goodies you haven't discovered either.....

I am not aware of any way to increase FOV beyond 110 at present.

Hell Seeve there is so damn much to this game that I have only scratched the surface yet. Everyday I find more excellent things to try out believe it or not!

found out the 110 fov apparently boosts my frame rate too! 8)

why I have no idea..

Yeah I have that already ... thank you all the same ... :D
I've been scanning the forum ... on the look out for ways to enhance/improve things before I get too far into a game ... and this one seems to have sooo much for me to investigate before I get into it fully ...

Quote:

In my sig ... 3 Dell 20" each running 1280x1024 scaled up as their native res is 1600x1200.
The TripleHead2Go by Matrox will not do resolutions that high but believe me it looks awesome never the less and the immersion from the extra peripheral vision is incredible.

Links for those that might be interested ...
Matrox TripleHead2Go Analog Edition ... available now.
Matrox TripleHead2Go Digital Edition ... not actually available yet ... but soon I believe.

Who do I ask ... ?
I would also like to ask if the Artificial Horizon could be scaled horizontally to overcome the stretching that occurs with widescreens or the extra wide resolution I am using.
I am sure there would be widescreen users that would like this too.

No big deal if they can't be fixed ... they would just be nice to have ... :D
