Re: Flips and Immelmanns - P51D

When I first tried to loop the Mustang, I kept falling out of the loop. I called my Dad and discussed it with him. His advise was to keep about 1G all through the maneuver and carry plenty of power on the climb portion. He had real world and sim experience looping the P-51.

Re: I need help trying to do a repaint of a P-51 My Dad raced at Reno

FS 9,
I have all of the original Wings of Power releases, except the long nose Focke Wulf. I have continued to enjoy FS9 over the years even though I have FSX as well. FSX seemed too much like a toy to me compared to the overall experience of FS9. So I've stayed back here.

I need help trying to do a repaint of a P-51 My Dad raced at Reno

I am currently trying to do a repaint of the first racer my Dad had at Reno in 1965. I could use some help from a repainter. I have had trouble with the curved portions of the paint job. This is the plane that he raced prior to the Signal Sea Fury, and prior to Rare Bear. https://www.mustangsmustang...

If you look close at the elevator trim wheel you will see that is marked "NH" and "TH". this stands for Nose Heavy, and Tail Heavy. Look closely at what knobs you are flipping. don't just flip the shiny ones. LOL. Hope this helps.

Throttle quadrant?

First off let me say, What a great surprise. I usually check the site every few days just to see if there is anything new and interesting related to flying the Mustang or the other warbirds. I saw the notice on the Fw and WOW I had to jump in. I downloaded the package trouble free I think last night...

SD, Help me with this please. I know which buttons to manipulate to move the trim, and don't have trouble with this during flight. But is there anywhere I can go to check the status of the amount of trim dialed into the aircraft when presetting the trim before flight? I have flown four of the versio...

Scott, Thanks for the fix, I took off on a fresh flight with a normal fuel load and immediately began to shoot touch and go landings, well as to be expected the aircraft is hard to slow with a full load. LOL so after blasting off some fuel on a local trip around some familiar sights I lined back up ...

I am also having an issue with the He-162 bouncing, it got so bad that at one point I saved the aproach from twelve miles out and just shot aproaches. No luck the bouncing is just as described. Is there a fix?

Flap extend and retract speed?

Scott, Why does it take so long for the flaps to actuate in the P-51? They were Hydraulic on the real airplane and come down fairly quickly. So I don't understand the hesitation. Now understand that this is the only complaint I have so far. I have enjoyed flying both the H and D variants very much s...
