Re: Descent in the Comanche
Complex aircraft, I keep power as is and trim it for descent. Bring back throttle to keep in limitations. Follow checklist as needed.

Re: They just follow you home
Lewis, at this point, I am only installing a new Airtex grey carpet since the previous 60s-era shag carpeting was dry rotted. The side panels and seat of course will not match, but I will be reupholstering the side panels next year and the seats with leather as well. Right now I just want to get it ...

Re: They just follow you home
Today we buffed out all the corrosion on the inside. The baggage compartment, rear seat, and floor are buffed shiny and then we sprayed Alodine on everything. We also had an avionics guy come out and he is going to look into making a harness for everything that we can then hang in there, along with ...

Re: They just follow you home
She's okay with it haha We took some scotchbrite to the corrosion from the luggage compartment. We took out the ADF loop, which wasn't connected to anything. We removed the radar altimeter and remote compass. We re-ran the wires through a different path. And as we got to the panel, we found a nightm...

Its an O-360-A1D. The stainless steel line that loops around and looks like a primer/fuel line is the manifold pressure line. We actually have to check it for blockage as the MP gauge is erratic on the last flight. SB 342G applies to the fuel-injected models. Mine is the paltry carb'ed engine.

Re: They just follow you home
Progress on the plane- Holy crap are there a lot of screws. We've removed just about every inspection cover. I've degreased A LOT of the belly panels and still have more to do. Air filter was caked with crap. So I cleaned out the filter frame and intake, and have a new filter element ready. ELT batt...

We finally got her home. Here she is leaving the previous owners hangar for the last time. http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k227/Raptor05121/Airplanes/20150903_155011_zpsccpba17z.jpg Passing a Cherokee 180 like it was standing still, we averaged about 160mph (yellow line) at 25 squared. http://i89....

They just follow you home
As a kid, I've grown up in a family of aviation. Cherokees, Ercoupes, and my favorite of all, of my grandpa's Mooney M20F. I remember vividly of riding in the backseat, thinking how our "forward swept" wings made us stand out like no other aircraft on the ramp. Dad up front, grandpa in the...

Re: Odd yoke - why?
That and the Cherokee "bowtie". The yoke was my biggest thing when A2A announced the Cherokee. I prefer the early to mid 60s Hershey bar wing and "bowtie" yoke to the later taper-wings with Ramhorn style. The early ones are VERY comfortable.

Thanks, everyone. I fly SEL about 90% of the time, with a twin occasionally. I'll be picking this up.
