Re: To all those with a bad case of the 'I WANTS'
Working as a product manager in customer facing software development as I do I would like to say that I would give my right arm for this level of customer engagement, "wants" and all.

Re: Cherokee Finished Paints
I absolutely love it. I wanted a paint that I could stick with and "own" for a round the world effort and this is it. Hi, I've just finished this repaint of G-AYJP, circa 1995, a PA28-140B which was based at RAF Brize Norton, near Oxford in the UK. I though I'd share her in case anybody el...

Re: Am I hammering my engine?
Thanks for all the advice and sorry for not replying sooner - I had my Father down this weekend for Father's Day. As a compete aside - Unfortunately had to miss Biggin Hill Airshow even though I live about 5 miles away, but someone was kind enough to fly their DC-3 on approach under the low cloud co...

Re: Am I hammering my engine?
Thanks. It really makes sense as I am currently flying just above a cloud layer. I suppose that is where the OAT was equal to the dew-point and the water vapour formed. Up above the air should be dry as if it wasn't I'd be flying through clouds right now

Re: Am I hammering my engine?
Fair play. Before getting into A2A's planes I would never have said this, but a Manifold Pressure gauge is actually a really useful thing. Without it I'm just judging the power using the Tachometer and its readings don't change with altitude in the same way. I've been cruising well below tolerances ...

Re: Am I hammering my engine?
Yep that's the fuel pressure :) I thought I was being reasonably careful with my flying. I'm trying to fly like I own it and keep wear and tear to a minimum. I'm going to be starting my PPL next year and I don't want to form any bad habits! I have to admit I've been tempted a lot when flying over th...

Am I hammering my engine?
Hi, I think this is a request for enlightenment relating to real flying, rather than a tech support question... I'm currently engaged on a round the world with the Cherokee. So far I've made it as far as Kangerlussuaq after flying from Sumburgh via Vagar, Keflavik and Kulusuk. That's a total of arou...

Re: The DHC-2 Beaver as an Accusim-plane thread
I fly "someone else's" Beaver all the time and always feel a little sad when the engine starts up without problems on a cold Canadian day :) That Wasp Junior engine is just crying out for some special A2A attention. The Kickstarter idea sounds great. I'm amazed that the FS development comm...

Re: Toe brakes with Saitek pedals/ beggage door
Mathias, Right now, there is one aircraft you can maintain, however, we're working on a general utility that if successful, will help with all aircraft management, including Accu-Sim. Regarding the pedals, I pointed this thread to another one of our developers who knows more about the controls. Sco...

What's the best range you achieved in the Civilian Mustang?
Hi, I was wondering what the best range was that people had managed to squeeze out of full fuel tanks? There was 42% of my 130 octane fuel remaining after a 900 mile-ish flight between Hobart and Milford Sound. I was cruising at 36,000 feet with a 40 knot tail wind. I climbed to cruising altitude at...

Civil Spitfire?
In the past week I have moved away from my beloved Carenado GA craft to fly the Mustang far more often. Being able to fly on instruments with Accusim and the pleasure of flying a performance piston plane like the Mustang really ticks all the boxes for me, except one. My favourite piston plane is sti...
