Re: Loss of power in flight/emergency landing

Ah-Ah. Thanks for pointing that at out. I always thought that at full power with no visible precip you were safe. Better to learn in the sim than real life.

En route from Anchorage to Illiama airport on Lake Clark, engine began losing power while in the climb over Lake Clark National Park. Did the usual Emergency Checklist routine: made sure throttle and prop full forward; turn on the fuel pump; check the fuel selector and switched tanks, checked the ma...

Re: Paint request thread?

N7791P has a new paint scheme from the default one provided in A2A. Anyone interested in recreating it?

Update the C182 Aircraft Configurator?

I bought my A2A C182 in 2014 and want to install the Flight1 GTN 750. My C182 configurator, however, does not give an option for the Flight1 GTN. Did the latest Accusim update, but still have the old configurator. Any suggestions?

Re: Video of Planes of My Life

I certainly hope so. At least I never heard back from him (a good sign). Thing is, I had so many problems with the plane that it was affecting my confidence and judgement. Not a good thing.

Re: Cut throttle: "Where are you going to land?"..uh.. too l

Great story, Scott. A tribute to all the instructors who inspire us to keep learning, keep flying, keep challenging ourselves. I, too, have had many instructors--some were good, some were bad, many were indifferent, and only a few were great. The best instructors were those who were able to impart t...

Re: 91P Flying Formation

The new Tappan Zee bridge going up, how cool is this. Heading towards the east bank of the Hudson and Tarrytown/Sleepy Hollow before joining the VFR corridor downriver. Fantastic video! Where did you guys depart from? Departed Westchester (KHPN), then headed west across the river just north of the ...

Re: 91P Flying Formation

That's a really cool video. Looks like a lot of fun in front of some impressive scenery. But it also looks like it was quite a bumpy day no!? Thanks for sharing Only over the city. Everywhere else it was glassy smooth. The Hudson River Corridor is almost always bumpy; the buildings just funnel and ...

Re: N7791P Panel Upgrade

During the break-in process the engine, the engine is filled with mineral oil and needs to be flown at high power settings in order to properly seat the cylinder rings. A result of this may be higher than usual oil pressures, my mechanic says, but in no way harms the engine, and can be adjusted lat...

Re: N7791P Panel Upgrade

Very nice! Post some videos too! One of the problem is the oil pressure? It looked very high indeed on the last photo. :) Interesting that you bring that up (and very observant). In addition to the panel work, the engine was overhauled. http://i.imgur.com/J1Nm3spm.jpg http://i.imgur.com/l0SV4iam.jp...
