Re: Quick descent in the connie. How????
What I do is reduce the MAP to 22" and keep the RPM at the cruise setting, 2200 rpm. If I descend at 500 fpm, the indicated airspeed goes up to around 200 knots. If I descend at 1,000 fpm, the speed goes up to around 230 - 235 knots. When reaching the desired atltiude, I keep the engine set at ...

Pitch Up on Autopilot Disconnect
I've been having a problem where when I disconnect the Sperry AP just before the approach (prior to selecting flaps), the plane remains stable until I move the yoke. Then there is a violent pitch up. A firm push on the yoke, as well as adding nose-down trim is required to stabilize the aircraft. Any...

Re: FSUIPC setup and basic traing video
I just watched your excellent video and learned much.
I will try setting my controls through FSUIPC as you suggested.
Thanks for taking your time to make the video, and I hope you will do more!

METO?
Just curious as to why "METO" power is not used on the initial climb out? In other words, why is the thrust reduced from Takeoff thrust directly to climb thrust (32" and 2300 rpm)? Speaking of climbout, what is the best procedure (speed, engine settings, etc.) for obstacle clearance? ...

Re: Finished Connie Paints
Military planes and liveries have never been among my favorites, but these military paints look gorgeous on the Connie!

Re: Hauling Cargo
I plan to do a good bit of cargo hauling as well.
I'm thinking about running cargo throughout the Caribbean islands, perhaps operating from bases at TJSJ and KMIA.
I'm hoping for a generic type cargo repaint, perhaps with a well-worn look.

Re: V speed information?
This is confusing because the ASI in the sim is in knots, but the values in the manual on page 137 are in mph. But then again, the markings on the ASI at 172, 146, 120, 100 knots makes sense: first notch flaps at 172 kts, gear down at 146 kts, second notch flaps at 120 kts, etc. It would be great to...

Great Landings
I'm really enjoying the Connie. I just took her on a flight from TJSJ to TNCM. It was a good flight and I'm getting more and more comfortable with her with each flight. I especially enjoy the challenge of the Sperry autopilot and am beginning to get the feel for it. My landings have so far been okay...

Re: Cockpit Mouseology
I think I know what the OP means. I have noticed the same thing: When using the mouse middle wheel to increase/decrease elevator knob for the autopilot, I experience the following: Let's say I want to adjust the autopilot elevator control to make the aircraft nose go down. I put the mouse over the e...
