Re: Question about your wonderfull Piper Cub for P3Dv4
You're just not allowed to have any fun while flying it! Hi. What do you mean by not allowed to have any fun? I also have Pro P3D and Academic Cub. Is the "fun part'" something that I may want to upgrade the Cub for? Perhaps he is refering to the fact that P3D is not a game. It is a simul...

Re: fundamental guidance on Captain Jake landing
Max, I think your onto a good track. There are a few more items to keep in mind. First, Yes you do need to think of things in terms of Kinetic and Potential energy. As pilots we need to manage this. One of the ways in which we manage energy is through the drag of the aircraft and drag devices on the...

Re: fundamental guidance on Captain Jake landing
Such a great discussion! Now thats aviation :) My own 2 cents. I am a former CFI II MEI (it lapsed, ya I know I know) and currently a 767 FO (just bragging a little). So I will give you all my own thoughts and advice. First: treat every landing as its own and unique landing. What that means is this,...

Oldest 757 Sim
Good day to all, I recently completed my 757/767 type. I finished my training on the oldest 757 sim. This thing was super old school, but the visuals were updated (as in the scenery was improved). Anyways, it really is amazing how our little hobby has some high level of transferability into the real...

Re: Starting tricks?
I used to fly a B36TC (short while, way too short). After priming, the procedure was to slowly advance the throttle while cranking. At some point it would light off and Id adjust the RPM, check oil pressure, and then all was well.
Ive been doing that here and it works well for me!

Some simple questions
First of all, I love this bird!! Everything I thought it would be and then some!!! Second, I notice my #1 radio last night had dashes in the nav section. Then this morning the whole radio was inop. Would not light up. OK, probably failed, no biggie ile fix it. But when I opened the mx hanger no issu...

I second that!patful wrote:If at some point down the road you ever consider upgrading the rest of the fleet to the Bonanza standard, I'd be happy to pay for the upgrades, would never expect a freebie for that much work.

Re: A2A Accu-Sim Bonanza V-Tail 15-Minute Promo
Creating all of these physical gauges was a huge job, which required just a load of time and resources for us to make. Just the water / rain physics was a big undertaking just by itself. We would of course love to add all of this new technology to our existing fleet, but we just don't know at this ...

Re: My ailerons just jammed during a test flight...
Hello, I'm new here, so forgive my ignorance, but somehow "beautiful shape" for general plane condition and failed aileron do not match for me ;-) Shouldn't this status be updated to something like "grounded, critical failure" after such finding in the hangar? Beauty is in the e...

Re: Congrats Capt Jake, you are now a licensed pilot!
Congratulations! I too was young when I recieved my ppl. So here is my honest advice: always do a proper preflight, always use a checklist (I know eventually we all end up memorizing it), if you ride with a friend always check fuel an oil with your OWN eyes, and most importantly: never stop pursuing...

Re: Just wanted to share a pic I took this morning...
Good to hear you've managed to find it enjoyable through some time so far. :) I think I have mostly gone into the dark side after several years in the field. Airplanes soon lose most of their magic when you see them in enough in less than pleasant circumstances. Big egos and difficult people thorou...
