Re: New computer time... Advice?
Thanks Chris. Jetline does seem out of my reach at the moment, although the customer service aspect as described is priceless. As far as the Dell goes, IF I stretched my budget to $1300 (pre-tax) I could get a machine with an i7-6700K chip and a GTX 960. You mentioned 970... Is the 960 comparable, o...

Great info as alway John, and thanks, I really look forward to this! Never Miss is Mark's 51, right? I see that one almost every year, a beautiful aircraft.

Re: B-17 BLACKOUT!
If you haven't discovered it yet, I hope you enjoy the random music and broadcasts which come over the intercom from time to time. By far my favorite feature of the B-17!

Sweet Diane is certainly one of the nicest looking Texans I've seen... I wonder why the name came off, did Mark Murphy sell her? Here she is in Massachusetts in 2012... http://i1133.photobucket.com/albums/m588/JoeS475/Westover%20Air%20Show%20058a_zpsb8gomgfu.jpg http://i1133.photobucket.com/albums/m...

Thanks Dudley and Lewis, I'll look into that! I do like the way you describe their support- something that is rare in many industries sadly.

New computer time... Advice?
So in addition to my graphics card slowly failing, now the fan on the motherboard is making noise and I think my 6 year old computer is in it's last days. Unlike some of you guys, I'm not interested in building a computer, I just want to buy one off the shelf that will work nicely with FSX. I don't ...

Re: Great app for us aviation lovers
I just got this app... It is too cool. Not trying to use it with FSX or ATC, but it is just fun to see what is over head and where it came from! Also being able to see the pilot's eye view in Google Earth is fantastic- just tracked a flight into Key West, it was beautiful! Can't recommend this enough

Hey, this is fantastic! You should definitely put up a post in the P-51 forum, as I'm sure a lot of people haven't checked in the Repainters forum here!

Re: N66TY Repaint Request
Yeah, those links aren't good. I did a Google Image search of the N# though and it is a nice looking aircraft... One of the ones where the canopy/antenna options perfectly fit A2A's model!
Hope someone does it!

Re: Inertial Starter
Thanks- Yeah that's what I was wondering. The oil being a factor is interesting. IIRC (Darryl can help me here), in the early Spitfires the prop was back due to counterweights or something (still unsure the starter type would affect it)... Of course that is a Merlin, not a radial. So much to try and...

Re: Inertial Starter
I've only ever used the inertia starter which was selected by default. Tonight I will try the direct crank. Which system do A2A's test aircraft use? Edit: I'm assuming that with both starters, the prop control should still be all the way back? Wondering if one starter or the other requires that prop...

Re: Cries of a Propliner !!!!
I saw these recently as I was looking for videos on the 377 Stratocruiser I recently acquired, to learn more. The 307 Stratoliner is a beauty! Re: Cries of a Propliner !!!!
The 307 Stratoliner sure was a beautiful bird. I was most surprised to find out that less than a dozen were built, and that they were based on pre-war B-17C Fortresses. I had previously just presumed they were an immediate post-war aircraft based off the G model Fort. Very interesting aircraft, this...
