A2A Aerostar Emergency Landing

We had to unfortunately belly land our airplane last night and wanted to share some more details with our community here. aerostar_belly.jpg Jake and I took the Aerostar up to do some practice IFR. Shortly after taking off the hydraulic pressure was rapidly dropping with the pump kicking in every 1-...

Re: Bravo Zulu on the B-17

Thanks OldNavy, I had the same reaction when testing this for P3Dv5. It's really the first and only of it's kind that goes deep into so many areas. Our manual was built around the actual B-17 manual and the systems are simulated deeply. Thank you again for taking the time to post and enjoy the Flyin...

Re: A2A Aerostar flights

There is a switch on the middle left of the console, right next to the front side of the pilot's seat. You simply push the button right or left to move the nose wheel. It moves very slowly so you need to anticipate when you wish to resume a straight path otherwise you will overturn. The first time I...

Re: A2A Aerostar flights

Keep going with these videos Scott. Just the pilots, a camera and the aircraft. No music, not too much editing. It just feels like real aviation. I can almost feel like I'm there with you. Thanks. I've been enjoying making these videos. After every one I send it to the team and ask "is this boring?...

Re: A2A Aerostar flights

Any idea on a time line of when it'll be available? I doubt you'll answer that LOL We are not able to bring the current version of Accu-Sim into MSFS2020 until Asobo / Microsoft make it possible. We expect this will happen soon. We may develop it primarily for P3Dv5, so at least we can work without...

Re: A2A Aerostar flights

You got it Scott! Question: Will you be simulating the unique issues with the Landing gear of the Aerostar ie lowing them wings level? Any chance of getting a 700 variant? <wishful thinking> :) Yes we will but I need to research this more to see exactly where the failure point is. As for doing a 70...

Re: A2A Aerostar flights

Fantastic video, again! So much detail do be discussing, even just looking outside. I have one question, Scott: "Free" supercharging. I'm simply wondering how it affects the combustion when the air is warmed by coming through the cowling. It might not have an effect, but maybe it does? (I'm sure, a...

Re: A2A Aerostar flights

G*d damn this thing is fast. Check out the landing speed on this tiny runway, and the take off is super cool. :D God I miss flying. :( I don't see any specific forum rules about profanity, but I don't believe this sentence is appropriate for this form. If it is, then I am in the wrong place...... I...

Re: A2A Aerostar flights

There is something wrong with the radios / electrical system that is causing this whine in the Aerostar, but it's been this way for 5 years. The sound is unfiltered ripple that remains in the rectified voltage. Excessive "whine" is almost certainly caused by bad filter capacitors in the DC generati...

Re: A2A Aerostar flights

There is something wrong with the radios / electrical system that is causing this whine in the Aerostar, but it's been this way for 5 years. And many airplanes have all kinds of sounds and noise, like this. In a way, I like the sound as it's a constant reminder the alternators are working. If I ever...

Re: A2A Aerostar flights

At full power static, they reach about the same RPM. But on the very first takeoff the left engine started sneaking ahead so we need to make an adjustment on the ground, fly, adjust, fly, etc. until it's just right. I don't know much at all about the type, but with that significant overspeed in gov...

Re: A2A Planes for new 2020 Flightim

We are hoping MSFS2020 will soon allow us to use Accu-Sim as Lockheed Martin Prepar3D does. We expect it will happen but we are dependent on them making this possible. Scott Is there anything we as users can do to help speed this along, or are they aware of your existence and needs for AccuSim? Pil...
