google AVSPECS limited they are a resto shop in New Zealand and check out some of their projects. Spit/P-40 included but the Mossie is current one.

having been a flying instructor and flown both flight sims and full motion simulators the easy answer is NO. It can help but you can not fully appreciate all the factors of flight sitting at your computer.

Planes that turn are much more fun than those that burn, usually. I'd rather have a radial-engined Goose, and get a PT-6 later on, but those turbines are so easy, so boring in comparison. Of course that B-36 has siz turning four burning so I guess that would solve all our problems :wink: :mrgreen: ...
