If anyone still has lockup/freezing issues with the updater, remember to run from the C:\ drive where your downloads are and shut off any anti-spyware you have. A lot of them come with system guards that keep the updater from turning off processes.

More than happy to help, fellows. I was faced with the same problem and it was a total flameout for me too until Lewis and another fellow from Deutschland helped me figure it out.

These would make FANTASTIC shared computing sub-units. Get 10 or 12 and link them all up... I wonder if that'd be a good way to get unbelievable FSX or P3D performance.

Great success! I tried "Run as Administrator" and also from my OS drive instead of the separate physical drive where FSX is installed. Between the two of those measures, one of them seemed to work.

Sounds like great updates but I've been having technical difficulties installing them - I boot up the installer, and it detects I have Spitfire ver 2.0 installed, and installs 2.12 or 2.13 or whichever it is. Then it says Closing Processes and up pops a balloon saying I need to close process A2A_Jan...

This repaint, kindly done by Scott and Ron, is a wonderful tribute to the only aircraft I have actual yoke time in (all of 15 minutes but they were wonderful) and currently resides at KBMG. Thanks again to all!
