Re: Comanche with turbo engine?
I'm not interested in turbocharged airplanes in both real life and simulation. When I bought the Aerostar the turbo powered ones were going for the same price as the non turbo's and I chose the non turbo. Combustion engines are already unreliable enough and putting a turbo on them makes them conside...

Re: Not experiencing enough failures
Remember this is an airplane which was designed to not have failures. The Comanche after all these years of AD's (Airworthiness Directives), which are required improvements from them being out in the field, is about as battle tested as an airplane can get. Having said that, they still do like anythi...

Guys I'm locking this post. We just don't need to pile on this guy, whoever he is, he's free to have his opinion. He might just not like the plane or maybe he's having a bad day, who knows, but there's really no point in this continuing.

Re: Too many catastrophic failures.
if I may add to the great idea above, when a simulated random failure occurs, that does not have to be like a 0 to 100% instant failure, a random event can be a partial deterioration of the function, which I think may be closer to real life than a 100% instant failure Who ever said it's only a 100%...

Re: Tip tanks to stabilize the aircraft in turbulence ?
Not placebo, just part of how Accu-Sim does its thing. It’s just another of the countless reasons we worked to hard to make this new physics system. So much just happens automatically without requiring us to tune anything. The extra weight increases the wing loading making it smoother and the weight...

Re: Does Accusim model fuel vapor lock?
I've never experienced vapor lock in the Comanche. The carburetor being underneath the engine might have something to do with it, not being baked.

Re: persistent engine failure
Ok it sounded like fouling, my bad. If the new install did indeed fix it then yes, it sounds like something was fixed with the new install. It’s great that you are up and running.

Re: persistent engine failure
It did repair the engine. It sounds like you were idling too low and the plugs were fouling. I think the more time you spend with the airplane and learn what it’s about the more you will enjoy it. Take your time, the journey is fun and rewarding.

Re: persistent engine failure
What happens if you hit CTRL-E for autostart? Does the engine startup?

Re: Oil Levels and Changes
The additive is handled like an on/off switch, so when it's checked it's in the oil, when unchecked it's not.

Re: Oil Levels and Changes
How does the oil fill work? Like, if I have 6 quarts of oil and fill it back up to 9, does that change all the oil so now I have 9 quarts of clean oil? Does that add 3 quarts of clean oil over 6 quarts of used oil? Is it all used oil? If you have 6 quarts of dirty oil and add three quarts of clean ...

What specific engine problems are you having? Is everything green in the engine maintenance after inspection?
