Re: Why no ADF ??
Two airframes were used in the build of the A2A T-6, neither of which had ADF of some form or description fitted. I agree, that they were originally fitted as per the loops and aerials on the rear fuselage, but not alas today. And as for portables, I'm not so sure. A few friends have an Ipad on thei...

Re: Very Lucky Find
Looking at Martin's pics in detail, I see the window framing around the pilot's window panel looks movable or in some way different to the other AT-6/SNJ/Harvard examples I've seen... Any insight? That was a postwar British modification to install a side window into the front frame of the canopy. H...

Better than Ice Cream.....
This panel is from a FAA registered T-6G that is soon to grace UK skies. Not sure how the authorities over here are going to take it, as they have taken months with N6972C (a recent repaint on here) and that is no way as modernised as this one. http://i1076.photobucket.com/albums/w447/T6flyer/134170...

Re: D-FRCP....Cessna or a Harvard?
Unlike the FAA system, British registrations can only be used once. So it was the Harvard and that was that! You can apply for an out of sequence registration in the UK, but of course it can't be a swear word or something that would offend. Been a few close calls though. Always remember a local base...

D-FRCP....Cessna or a Harvard?
For some reason, the registration of my default Cessna 172 in FSX is G-BAFM. As we now know from John Terrell's repaint of the T-6 into the markings of D-FRCP, this is what it was when on the British register. I know that I have not changed the registration, just makes me wonder why it wears 'FM? Ma...

She will stay as she is now, without the FAA registration at the top of the fin.

Re: Finished Repaints
I'll be interested to know where they'll paint her new registration letters G-DHHF. They won't. She has a dispensation to not wear a civilian registration as I was instrumental in getting this arranged. When she was first imported into the UK, the CAA deemed that she was wearing non-authentic colou...

Re: Very Lucky Find
Hi Martin, I guess you're aware but the markings refer to when it was at Stretton between 20/8/47 and 5/9/49. Hatter's Castle is an A J Croinin novel from 1931, made into film noir in 1942. ... but I'm sure you knew most of that! Had the dates, but not the book. Thanks very much. It's very rare to ...

Re: Finished Repaints
Thank you so much!!!!
In the readme could you change the year built to 1944 and it's Howard not Norman! See you in an hour.
So good to have something that have flown in. Silly, but means so much to me.
Cheers,
Martin

Re: Very Lucky Find
Seems the same Harvard has been seen before. When I was a teenager my Dad bought me a weekly encyclopedia of aircraft and this was in one of the issues. Believe the same illustration was in the Combat Colours book and I think the Squadron Signal T-6 book. Now got to find out what 'Hatter's Castle' i...

Very Lucky Find
I am an admin on a T-6 page on FB 'T6 Harvard SNJ Pilot Maker' and this morning one of our members from Goodwood, showed two pictures of a Harvard part that his CFI had in his collection of junk. One luckily had the airframe's serial number on it and so I managed to find the history of the actual ae...
