Severe Wind gust during take off

Post by Vox »

Old player here since the first BOB . I was playing BOB2 with an XP system and old patches but Just recently installed Win 7 with a modern sys with 2.13. Very nice-overall especially campaign which I really enjoy.

While flying the campaign, my hurricane was flipped repeatedly during take-off by wind gusts. Any tips on how to handle, this short of turning gusts off completely?
Thanks

Tower: “Wind gusting severe” . I experimented with my rudder pedal calibration curves and found that higher initial deflection helps, along with more rudder trim than usual. I can manage “most” severe gusts on TO with these changes. -Hope this helps someone else.

Thanks for the advice. I disabled wind effects because of this issue. A gust would flip the plane through 180 degrees while I was still trying to start her up. In real life the squadron would probably position themselves to take off into the wind. I'm not sure if the sim takes this into account during campaign missions
