I thought someone might have already posted about this. I just saw it, and
haven't done any digging yet, but everything about this story amazes me.
For a start, I didn't know Microprose still existed!

...so far, found only this additional, which doesn't yet mention the Lanc

Also found a few mentions of the Lanc sim when it was an independent development before Microprose got involved,
but no further detailed info.
History note: When BoB2 was first being developed as a rework of the original Rowan's BoB, A2A (then known as Shockwave)
had been commissioned to do the work by GMX Media (I think I'm remembering that name right), and they also wanted Shockwave
to do a reboot of B-17, for which they had leased the rights. But no way was Shockwave sufficiently capitalized to pull off both,
especially when GMX wanted them done on the same timeline. So after some initial investigation, Shockwave elected to go with
BoB2, and shelved B-17. But prior to that, there had been a B-17 development subforum here, with bomber experts and former
crew (there were a lot more of them around back then) discussing how it could be put together.

Wow I haven't been here in a while that would put smiles on a lot of faces.
