Non PBR model or revert to a previous version

Hi,

After an absence, I upgraded my C172 from the 18.4.22.0 to the 19.12.27.0 version.

I don't like PBR and have issues so I read this post

It was not clear to me:

1) If there is an alternative Non PBR model in the latest version, and if it does exist, how to activate it ?

2) Is there a Non MipMap textures Pack (like for the Bonanza) ?

3) How can I revert to a version before PBR was introduced ?

Hi Simicro,

To revert to the non-PRB model and textures for the original three paint schemes for the 172, simply open the aircraft.cfg file, and for each one find the "model=pbr" entry and replace it with just "model". Note that this won't work for the new N346CP livery so suggest you leave this one as it is.

The original cockpit textures don't use mipmaps.

Editing the aircraft.cfg I achieved indeed to deactivate the PBR apparently for the external model and the cockpit.

Except for the avionics stack that remains blurred.

How can I get the C172 installer in the version just before the advent of PBR ?

Not sure using an earlier version of the update will help with the issue you describe Simicro. Could you attach a screenshot showing how the avionics stack looks in your installation?

Not too sure I understand the issue from your screenshot Simicro, but previous versions of the update are kept on our server. In the case of the 172, if you wish to update to the last version before PBR implementation was added, uninstall and then reinstall the 172 with your existing installer, and then rather than running the latest update as detected after installation, run this one instead:

Ah, looks like the contrast in the PBR version is a bit reduced compared to the original. Glad to help, but please just bear in mind that in using an older version of the 172, you'll be missing a few fixes that were released subsequently.
