Accu-Sim Cherokee 180 manual
Re: Accu-Sim Cherokee 180 manual
I'm jealous of everyone in the US who has a day off today. It's not a holiday in Canada which means I'll be doing my F5 pressing at work. If it comes out before 4pm it's going to make the rest of my day seem very long
Re: Accu-Sim Cherokee 180 manual
Great work guys! Just hope the servers can handle the flood of simultaneous downloads for this bird! Can't wait.Scott - A2A wrote:As we prepare the Cherokee for launch, to keep with an original A2A tradition of releasing the manual before launch, here's a link to the Accu-Sim Cherokee 180 manual. A lot of people worked very hard on this, and I hope you enjoy it. It's both a nice read plus informational.

Re: Accu-Sim Cherokee 180 manual
I'm only off cause Monday is my day off, not cause it's a holiday... Otherwise I'd be working...
Re: Accu-Sim Cherokee 180 manual
New autopilot to play with
Not that I'd use it obviously

Why not? Real pilots use it all the time.tbaac wrote:Not that I'd use it obviously

Its arguable that if all you wanted to do was to watch someone else fly the plane on flight simulator then you could save your money and find something on YouTubeJigsaw wrote:Why not? Real pilots use it all the time.tbaac wrote:Not that I'd use it obviously
Its another topic, as with whether or not to use GPS. But you're right Jigsaw, nothing wrong with using it.

Re: Accu-Sim Cherokee 180 manual
I have a honest feeling that we are getting very, very close to release... The activity of the team on the forums (on, off, on, off, but not at the same time) is interesting. I'm not trying to be a "stalker" for lack of a better word, I'm just ready to fly a Cherokee!

Re: Accu-Sim Cherokee 180 manual
An autopilot of some kind is just about must have in FSX for me. It is far, far easier to fly an aircraft in real life manually while concentrating on something like setting mixture, changing frequencies, checking the map, or just looking around.tbaac wrote:Not that I'd use it obviously
BTW, I didn't quickly found it in the manual - are you able to confirm, if the autopilot pitch control is separate from pitch trim, that is, you need to trim manually during AP operation? The video kind of suggested that this is finally the case, it would probably be a first FSX GA airplane that gets this correctly.
Nice manual by quick look, got to sit down now, and take a read!

I'll use it, I'll just try not to use it all the time.
Anyway, I hadn't seen the preview video when I wrote that. I see the video shows the new autopilot.

Re: Accu-Sim Cherokee 180 manual
I haven't had time to read the whole manual, but it looks great. I do have a (perhaps stupid or premature) question though. I don't see a checklist for normal procedures. The normal procedures section of the manual seems to mention a checklist as being in that section, but I can't find it. There is a checklist for emergency procedures, but I don't see one for normal procedures. Perhaps the checklist is separate from the manual?

Re: Accu-Sim Cherokee 180 manual
This is true. You need to trim the aircraft for level altitude first, then engage altitude hold otherwise the TRIM UP / TRIM DOWN warnings will start sounding.AKar wrote:BTW, I didn't quickly found it in the manual - are you able to confirm, if the autopilot pitch control is separate from pitch trim, that is, you need to trim manually during AP operation? BPL,
The Normal Procedures section is based on the original manual for the Cherokee C 180. We will have an in-sim checklist in your pilot's notes too.
