Piper Cherokee 180 Avionics INFO and MANUALS

Post by some1 - A2A »

Hey guys, here is a list of avionics equipment we've modelled for Cherokee 180, with some features highlights. These are actual screenshots from Virtual Cockpit (FSX DX10).

S-TEC System 30 autopilot
Image
- Rate based two axis autopilot
- Stabilizer Mode (maintains turn rate)
- Heading Hold Mode
- Low Track Mode
- High Track Mode
- Alt Hold
This autopilot is reliable and simple to operate. But it is also very different from the autopilots usually found in FSX airplanes. It can track the VOR/LOC/GPS, but it will not intercept it automatically. It can hold the altitude, but it will not trim the aircraft. You'd better read the manual or prepare for the unforeseen consequences.

Davtron M903 Indicator
Image
- Displays current radial TO/FROM VOR station
- Alphanumeric station identifiy
- Localizer deviation and centerline for ILS apporaches

Astrotech LC-2 clock
Image
- 12/24 format (depends on metric/imperial setting in the payload manager)
- Date Display
- 24-hour elapsed timer
- backlight (!)

Bendix King Radio Stack
Image
- KM 24 audio selector panel
- Two KX 155 COM/NAV units
- KR 87 ADF with flight timer and elapsed timer.
- KN 64 DME which can be tuned remotely from NAV1 receiver or tuned directly with frequency knobs (independent from NAV1/NAV2 radios).
- KT 76 Transponder

I take it RXP will replace Com1/Nav1 and DME

Looks great, can't wait to press 'purchase' at the A2A store :)

Am I correct in thinking the radio stack will be as functional as in the C172? Did you fix the issue with the update rate of the ADF? In the C172 it updated at 1 Hz (the needle, anyway).

Looking awesome guys!

You need to get a laser printer. I've just bought a new toner cartridge last week, makes out for about 1 cent european per page. The paper costs more!

Your right. One total ink replacement costs half of what I paid for the printer and I have already replaced all the ink many times.

I should have said "There goes another printer".

I was reading the autopilot manual and it is referring to the altitude hold button or control. I understand how this works but am looking for the button to activate this mode. Where is this button located. I know that I might have missed this in this manual but I thought that I would ask to clarify.

Thanks,
Mike Cameron

This is what I see in the manual

The altitude hold mode can only be engaged if a roll mode (ST, HD, LO TRK, HI TRK)
is already engaged. Maneuver the aircraft to the desired altitude. Engage the
altitude hold mode. The ALT lamp will be illuminated as shown in Fig. 3-5, to
acknowledge that this mode is engaged. The autopilot will hold the aircraft at its
current (captured) absolute pressure altitude.

You will control the mode in question and all other modes with the mode controller on the gauge itself..IIRC

Hope that helps bud.

The button is located on the yoke. This is shown in the promo video.
