They're mostly around Norwich and Ipswich, with a few down south in Eastbourne. I don't get back enough, last time was in '07 :(

A quick (one evening's work) repaint of G-CIFR, an ex-Shropshire Aero Club PA-28-181 Archer II which gets a few honourable mentions in my logbook. It's a bit of a pig lining up things between the tail and the upper fuselage on this one...

The real aircraft (now re-registered and flying a short distance from Sleap at Tatenhill) wasn't and isn't fitted with wheel spats or go faster gubbins, so these are not repainted and will appear plain white if installed (Edit: Nope. They work with the scheme now...)

Great stuff with G-CIFR Ian. I feel your pain with lining-up the stripes as they sweep up onto the tail as this livery has them in a very similar place: N38GH is a Florida-based Cherokee and can be downloaded here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/tyyff8cql1ubt ... _N38GH.zip

I've posted a rather self-indulgent number of screenshots in this thread: http://a2asimulations.com/forum/viewtop ... 15&t=41235

It's actually, I believe, the old British Aerospace Flying Club colours - the bright red wings, which it shared with RAF trainers at the time it was originally painted, are hi vis specifically because it shared airspace with the many random things BAe made in the 1980s and 1990s, including fast jets. However, I don't believe G-CIFR was actually a BAe Flying Club aircraft, I think it was painted to match another aircraft which was bought from the then defunct BAeFC.

As this is a released paints thread, however, I'd better stick up a link to another one... N501BU was my original play with the paint kit, so isn't very good, but does include a matching partially blue interior which some people might like.

The G-CIFR repaint is indeed the livery of the ex British Aerospace Flying College, which operated out of Prestwick from 1987 to 1999.The college then moved to Jerez De La Frontera in Southern Spain,5 years later Bae pulled out ,and was bought out and renamed Flight Training Europe, the aircraft are still flying yes even after all these years, and FTE is a very successful Training organisation,In the last year they have received 5 new DA42 Twin Stars for advanced training, hope this helps to clarify things will try and get a pic sometime.

Ps If anybody could do the same livery and change registration to EC-FTE that would be appreciated..................

Here you go, Ted...

Download: http://www.ianpsdarkcorner.co.uk/repain ... EC-FTE.zip

And while I was researching that one, I came across some pictures of EC-IDV, which is similar, but not quite the same, so... umm... yeah. Well.

Yes, the rudder is unpainted on the photos I found, so I went with it.

They're not perfect. The Amarillo font I have isn't quite right for the one used by the operator and the spacing around the registrations isn't quite right, but hopefully they're acceptable.

...AND... While I was at it... I also fixed the go faster bits on G-CIFR, so the elevator gap seals are now red. The link hasn't changed, but the zip file should now be dated today if anyone wants to re-download it.

I should go do some more washing up now, I suppose.  :(

Gotta chime in here - I'd love to see the classic 1980's BA scheme that I remember oh so well from when I was a kid:
