Emblem and chrome spinner disappeared ages ago, not just with the last update. I would have to reinstall my Cherokee to use this.

No Bruce the emblem and spinner are just optional cfg settings the repainter can now use.

thanks,
Lewis

Actually if you reinstall it and use the new core then it (the two folders) wont be there at all no matter how many times u install the plane.
What I did was installed the Cherokee to an fake directory then moved the two folders (model.chrome spinner and model.emblem) into the aircraft directory after installing the latest core and then you can see the emblems again and use a chrome spinner if u want.

For some reason the new core deletes those two folders by default so you have to dig them out manually into another directory and move them over to the plane directory

I noticed this when I reinstalled the cherokee and then the new core update after my paint with the chrome spinner wasn't in the list.

The config file reads the model folders telling it to use either the chrome spinner or emblems so it points to the two folders that have these model files in them then it reads the data and displays the options of spinner or emblems.

Just so you are aware the emblems and spinner changed so in the livery folder a model.ini
[model]
PropellerModel = 0
FuselageEmblems = 1

etc will activate or not the optional bits. Same will be true for the Comanche.

cheers,
Lewis

OK this is what I had to do Lewis. The folders were not there to begin with that hosted the model files so I had to install them manually.

========================================

Keep in mind if you don't want to use the emblems or a chrome spinner then in the texture file (text file) just make sure there is no text next to *model=* If you want the emblems, then next to the word *model* in your config you have to have it like this:

model=emblem

or if you want a chrome spinner then you must have it like this:

model=chrome_spinner

BUT the two folders named *model.emblem* and *model.chrome_spinner* must be present in your directory. They are in the original cherokee installer but again after installing the latest core update then they are taken out so then you have to install the plane to another directory and then move those two folders over and then make adjustments to your config file if you want to use these two options.

Hello,

yes the models are no longer used, just the ini file to add or remove the optional parts. Look in the default embedded paints folder for an example. If your using an old cfg entry that still has a model state set in the cfg then you will get the issue you are having.

This should save you having to mess around in the future.

thanks,
Lewis

So if I install this paint and put a model.cfg file in the texture folder with

[model]
PropellerModel = 1
FuselageEmblems = 1

I will see the chrome spinner and fuselage emblems?

model.ini

Not sure if both switches can be used at once... I vaguely remember something about one or the other. Maybe someone can confirm.
