A2A input configurator incompatible

Post by n454mw »

Hi, I recently upgraded to P3D V4.5 after 3 years away from the sim. The first thing I did was to go to the A2A store and purchase the Cherokee. I'm having a lot of trouble setting up my controls and when I go to the start menu in windows 7 and try to start the input config program I get the message that the program has stopped working and the choice to either debug (something I have no idea how to do) or close the program. I have uninstalled the aircraft, cleaned up what files I could find and redownloaded and reinstalled with the same result. Does anyone have any idea what might be going on? Update: I've reinstalled simconnect since posting this and things are a little better as far as the controls go but the input cofigurator problem still exist and now I have discovered that the aircraft won't move from the parking spot no matter how much throttle I apply.

Thanks
Mark
Thanks Mark

Hello,

make sure you are running as Admin via right click and selecting run as admin when trying to open the application.

I also want to just note that reinstalling an issue as a first step troubleshooting should always be avoided as it can bury issues and cause more frustration. Also worthy a note is that Win7 lost support in Jan 2020 so for security alone I would really recommend an upgrade for correct working software. Win7 doesn't support everything later OS do out the box etc.

thanks,

Is there no error message at all?

Is your Windows 7 all up to date including optional updates?

Is your anti virus or anti mallard maybe interfering with the start of the application. You should be able to check the logs just in case it is one of those.

Thanks,

Thanks I'll try that and btw I've got windows 10 on order, should be here thursday!!!
Edit: Well, it isn't my antivirus and as for updating windows 7 I don't think that can be done anymore, can it, but since I'm updating to windows 10, kinda pointless!
Thanks
Mark

Oh so you are updating the OS, marvellous. Let us know how you get on, Ive a feeling the files required for the software to work are not as standard in the old win7 hence the issue you encountered but lets see how you get on with the new OS.
