Hi Guys,
Hope someone can help here please. I have just come back into FSX after a few years and just recently purchased the C182, also purchased (few years back) the Reality XP GNS530 and GNS430 package. Now I can get the 530 into my C172 and added to the front panel, but nothing showing in the 182, not even showing in the setup panel when you can switch the types of GPS. I can see its gone into the panel config but that's it.

Re: Adding Reality XP GNS530 and GNS430 to C182 in FSX
Hello,
In its default state, the 182 for FSX supports the original v1 GNS 430/530 WAAS product from RealityXP. However, the currently available version of this product is the GNS530W and 430W v2.
If you're using the "v2" version of the GNS, you can still use it in the 182, but if you can clarify exactly which RXP product you're using, it'll be easier to help. For example, I believe the original version isn't supported for operating systems later than Windows 7.
Thanks,
Nick

Thanks for the info. Looks like this is the original version of the GNS product. Which operating system are you using, and have you tried using the GNS gauge in default FSX aircraft?

Hi, I'm on Windows 10 FSX Accel - When you say "have you tried using the GNS gauge in default FSX aircraft" are you referring to the 2 already installed the GPS 295 and GNS 400? I just would like to use the 530. I have been able to add the default 530 as a pop GPS, but how to add to the control panel is another thing.

Re: Adding Reality XP GNS530 and GNS430 to C182 in FSX
Okay, I was just curious whether you've got your GNS product working at all in FSX, as it's a standalone product to the 182. However, If you're using Windows 10, I think that may explain why the v1 GNS 530 WAAS gauge isn't functional in your installation. However, the best place for asking questions about the RXP products, is their sub-forum on Avsim.
As you say, alternatively you can just use the 182 Aircraft Configurator to select the "default" option and then use the Shift 3 menu to bring up the GPS 400 or GPSMAP 295.
Thanks,
Nick

Question, Will A2A update the C182 to be compatible with the newest RXP GNS430/530 as was done with the V35?

It's very unlikely that we'll update the FSX version of the 182 to add additional third-party GPS support. However, the RXP GNS 530W/430W v2 can be used in the FSX 182 with the help of the RealityXP configuration tool which allows the replacement of the panel.cfg entries. Also, please check out this topic in the RXP support forum on Avsim.
The P3Dv4 and v5 versions of the 182 already support the RXP GNS 530W/430W v2.
Thanks,
Nick
