joystick-mapping: magentos/starter

Hey guys,
via the A2A input configurator I've assigned two of my joystick buttons zu the magneto/starter key (switching left/right). When I try to start the engine the key instantly jumps back from the "start" position although I keep the button depressed. The second time it always holds the position and keeps the starter going.
Using the mouse does the job flawless.
Is there a logic I don't understand?
