Surging sounds with long established Comanche 250

Post by Archive88 »

I have had the Comanche for several years and had no problem. I have not changed any setup. Using MS 10, FSX and have several Orbx scenery adds loaded. Using basic dual desktop stereo Harmon Kardon speakers (as always...back 10 years).
But now have sound coming and going with my beloved Comanche...at least for the last few months. No real changes in any basic setup. Would like some assistance. Is this actually an FSX problem? I have made no changes to my FSX setup.
It seems to be present on warm up and take-off and for a while as I head out, but then it comes and goes in no real pattern during flight.
Appreciate the help.

Probably a windows change, doe the audio mute down around 80% every so often?

If so your windows is muting the sound thinking communication is happening on your system, you can change this windows behaviour in the audio settings.

For example;

Thank you for the response.
Yes, it does surge. Will look at the link you provided and see what I can do.

Sorry Lewis. Doesn't get me anywhere. Get to /Themes, but there is no Sound option...nada but ways to change the pretty photos.
Can you give me a more detailed link that drills down to the sound change I need to make.
Sorry for the bother.

It's the Windows 'Sound' dialog box you're after Archive88.

There are two ways to get to it mentioned in the article Lewis linked. The second is to right click on the speaker icon in the system tray at bottom right, click 'sounds' and go to the 'communications' tab.

Thanks,
Nick
