My problem is between the Comanche Input "Configurator Preview Carb heat lever Preview" and the aircraft in the Sim. The sim is P3d v4..
I have an Arduino Leonardo driving a Windows 10 HID Game Controller with switches, potentiometers and rotary encoders working as expected with FSUIPC and LINDA. I’m trying to use an axis RzAxis to control Carb Heat. I get the expected response in the Comanche Input Configurator Preview Carb heat lever Preview. I save and Update the Configurator but the carb heat lever in the sim doesn’t change.
If I use a Saitek X-55 Throttle potentiometer I can control the carb heat lever in the sim.
Any thoughts anyone?

Hello,
do you have the controls all enabled in the sim. If they are turned off in the sim then nothing will happen.
thanks,

Re: Input Configurator Preview to airplane control Arduino
Lewis,
Thank you for the response.
I don't understand when you suggest I make sure controls are turned on in the Sim. The sim is performing as expected, with Saitek X99 rotary axis controlling the carb heat lever when fly the sim. The Arduino shows in the input configurator but not in the sim.
I have a sickening feeling I may have misapplied the Arduino as an input device for the Comanche.

Re: Input Configurator Preview to airplane control Arduino
Hi Rozel,
To use the axis assignment in the input configurator, use of controllers must be globally enabled in the P3D UI. (Under "Options" → "Controls" → "Other".) By default this options is ticked of course, but some users of FSUIPC etc. may untick it.
Please can you confirm if this box is ticked in your case?
Thanks,
Nick

Re: Input Configurator Preview to airplane control Arduino
Hello Nick,
Yes the box is ticked.
Again I suspect the Arduino interface since I only have the problem using the Arduino.
All good with Saitek X99.
BTW I haven't found any folks using the Arduino as an HID axis, switch or rotary encoder input.
But absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.
Also I've used the Leo Bodner BU0386 in other panels successfully.
Thanks again

Re: Input Configurator Preview to airplane control Arduino
Okay, thanks Rozel.
I'm not too sure of your setup as I don't have experience with any comparable hardware, but is the device in question visible as one of the controllers in the P3D UI?

Re: Input Configurator Preview to airplane control Arduino
HI Nick,
With the Arduino controller I can control flaps, gear and elev trim. But I think I'm going back to using a BU0386A interface. And consider the Arduino an experiment and move on.
thanks for the help and consider this closed.

This is an example of Arduino used as a HID.
