Hello,

what happens if you reset the aircraft when this occurs?

thanks,

No way! This was the same issue with the WoP2 51. It's deja vu all over again...

Hi Lewis,

I'll try it again today, but when i finished that flight, I selected a different P-51H texture wise, but it's the same model of course, and made a new flight and the same thing occurred again.

Thanks,

Ken

OK, upon further testing, and I'll keep trying to replicate it, this what it looks like is happening. If I take off, get some altitude, then drop the tanks, they disappear. If I'm sitting on the runway, and don't want the tanks and drop them while sitting on the runway, they follow me. I'm guessing the ground is keeping them from "dropping" as far as the animation requires, but they're stopping, not reaching the end of the animation, and as a result, end up following me around when I fly.

Had the same problems and results today. Flew for an hour out of Bowerman and dropped the tanks before take off. Was enjoying the scenery and then when shifted to the spotview to take a snap, noted the said tanks following me!

There are some old threads for the WoP2 P-51 about this exact same problem. Unfortunately, I don't think there was a fix other than the WoP3 Mustang coming out. You might check through those older threads for a solution, but I think the 3D model has to be tweaked to fix it. :( The distance and behavior you guys are describing is identical to the WoP2 51.

More War Stories

When I was in the Navy I accidentally pickled off a 300 gallon drop tank full of fuel on the flight deck and it popped some rivets and it started to leak. Me and another guy were doing a test of the pylons and my compadre forgot to remove the cap from the cartridges that operate the pylon mechanism. I only pushed the button at his request "It wasn't my fault" that was my story. :D If you ever have been on a Navy ship when they call general quarters you will always remember it. Lots of activity for a while as potential fire on the flight deck is serious stuff. Sundog's problem is not too serious. :D

I skated as I was only following the direction of a higher ranking enlisted. He if I remember he got a written reprimand which goes in your jacket.
