Except that that one is no longer owned by the CAF - it used to be based at my local airport with the Minnesota Wing of the CAF, but it was sold a couple years ago (it is now privately owned by an individual in Colorado, who also owns a P-40N that he purchased from Australia last year). Despite its new/current ownership, however, a recent photo I saw of it still shows it operating with all of the CAF decals intact.
The CAF Minnesota Wing sold the Harvard so that they could purchase the yellow SNJ they now have - the reason for this is because under FAA guidelines, the Harvard Mk.IV can only be registered in the Experimental category in the US, and thus you can't sell rides in it in the US. The NAA-built T-6's and SNJ's, however, despite being essentially an identical product, can be/are registered in either the Standard or Limited categories, and thus one can sell rides with those in the US.

Very nice Ron. Didn't realize until recently you were a painter. Not as much fun as chasing woman but at our age we may be in trouble if we catch one on many fronts.

Once a night? In your dreams. Opportunity would be a fine thing! Back on topic. What do you think of my new paint?FlexFlier wrote:Ah, yes...age. No doubt about it...you've got skills, and I'm envious. BTW, have you given any thought to the Blue Angels scheme I posted back on p. 37 or 38?Ron Attwood wrote:What do you think of my new paint?FlexFlier wrote:Ah, yes...age. I think I've done enough T-6s to last me for a while. I'm taking an enforced break while I upgrade my PC.

Good plan. Are you planning a move to P3D as well? I'm thinking about it when I either upgrade or, more likely, get a new confuser...er, computer.Ron Attwood wrote:I think I've done enough T-6s to last me for a while. I'm taking an enforced break while I upgrade my PC.
