Cockpit Lights

Is there any reason why there is only a cockpit flood and no back/post lights for individual instruments? Make inside-outside contrast more challenging otherwise.

The only light in the cockpit comes from the lamp which is positioned above the right hand side panel. Standard T-6G fit.
