That's of course true, not sure why I insist writing them wrong way! Age comes early when it comes to the google searches or comprehension of sentences.
The engines are principally the same, so I've been using both models to find out general information, for that site the 985 stuck on repeat for me for some reason. Sorry about that.
That confirms the sump order which I only had from the site I linked earlier, noted down the wrong way by me - the 985 way, of course in conflict as I mentioned with the R-1340 manuals I started browsing! Kind of like it is supposed to. Thanks for the good pics btw.
Still, I can't make anything out of the oil flow diagram. A higher quality scan would be much appreciated if there is some available!

I will have a look at our manuals when I get to work tomorrow and post a copy of the oil flow diagrams for you. I will do both the 985 & 1340.
Cheers
Dave
EDIT - I have not forgotten the diagrams even in our subscription Manuals are not very good. I have a really good Merlin one but will keep looking tomorrow.

Re: question about oil clean kit
Thanks Dave,
I've got a pretty fine collection of all kinds of data, both from original PDFs and various paper scans by myself or scanned by other folks...a high-resolution R-1340 oil flow diagram is something I lack however.

Re: question about oil clean kit
Resurecting an old topic as I too have been a bit curious as to how this system works.
Is this the part you're talking about that replaces the regular drain plug?
https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/ ... -00880.php
I would imagine just a regular drain plug would work fine, but I don't know if it would seal well enough to deal with the increased pressure in the rocker boxes since some of the compression is going to seep through the valve seals. (Of course that's just my theory, I could be makin s#@! up. Not that I've ever done that before lol.)

Let the potato rest for 5 minutes.
