different repaints give me slightly different performance

Post by Zacke »

Hey guys,

I'm using two different custom made repaints for my T6 and I recognized that on my very modest PC they gave me slightly different fps. I didn't test that in extenso yet but it's quite obvious: Both have the same resolution (t6_t.dds is 64mb in size) but while one gives my about 30 fps the other is 5 to 7 fps lower.

I'm not very into repaint or image processing tech. So could anybody explain me the background of this behaviour?

Could it have to with the fact that the repaint with the slightly lower performance seems to be a little bit more detailed (e.g. inside the wheel bay the hydraulic lines all have different colors, the wheel struts and linkages have different colors etc.)?

One more edit: The better performing repaint has a custom cockpit color: It's all grey instead of olive and seems to be a bit more uniform

Thanks in advance,
Zacke

Hello Zacke,

it will just be the file types when saved. There is various options re-painters can use, outside the recommended. Some result in better quality at a slight performance cost, but the performance cost can also be changed via your system and sim settings and what not. A lot of moving pieces for sure. The performance change should be next to nothing and normally hardly noticed.

thanks,
