Hi Andreas.
Another silly thing I was told years ago ( i'm 78)was-----

"when landing always keep the runway between your legs"

This may sound stupid but on final approach lots of people find it very difficult to follow right down and on to the centreline.

Try it you will be amazed how helpful it is and how simple.

Cheers Chris

That is an interesting one Speedy. So simple that I don't know how I never thought about it before. Going to have to try that next time I fly.

I'm sure looking forward to this Connie. I have Jahn's models up to the Starliner 1649 which is my favourite. His Connies are very good and A2A will be challenged to better them IMO. :)
Cheers, CJ .

Am a huge fan of Manfred's work (and happy to be working with him on the continuing C-47 beta test). How do his Connies do in FSX? I've heard great things about them but I'm wary of FS9 portovers. Any issues with that?

EDIT: NB, am of course not looking to promote a competitor for the A2A L-049, but I'd be happy to look at a 1049 or a Starliner alongside it.

Good evening Alan.
I have been playing with Jahns Connies for quite a while and love every one. If his A/C are portovers, they are the best. The only Connie of his I have a prob with, is the 1649 Starliner. It doesn't want to find and track a VOR or ride an ILS as well as his other series.
His sims are,-- next to A2A, of course, the best for the price. :) IMO.
Cheers, CJ.

If that's the only issue, I might check it out - something to tide me over during the (I hope) not-much-longer wait...

I just pop on to the forum a couple times a day when I get a chance to see if anything new has happened. Other than that just going to spend time plodding around in the P-51, and going to take the Strat up for the first time in a long time this weekend. Had quite a lot of hours on it when it was first released, but by the time COTS came there were so many other planes that my main flyers are the P-51 and B-17. Only put 19 hours on it after COTS, and I am graded as an OK pilot. Guess I am going to have to change that for better or for worse, lol.

Is what I was thinking somewhere around that neighborhood. Has been fairly quiet around here so I take that means things are going well behind the scenes. Granted we got way more notice on this than the T-6 which was just dropped in our laps in the span of a week or 2. While flying the Strat today though I have been thinking that the upgrade that may benefit the Strat is a real deal Navigator like the Flight Engineer. That seems to be the one thing lacking since we have a full flight crew minus that one person. So I am putting my virtual dollars on us getting a fully living navigator, and that it will be here by tukey day.

This is also true of taxiing, especially large airplanes. I learned this one as a co-pilot for Eastern Air Lines in 1966.

And there's the story about the tower controller who admonished the airliner to watch their lineup on landing; said they were left of centerline on touch down. Pilot's response was," That's right I was, and the copilot was just to the right of it."
