I agree guys. It's just so hard not to click F5 all day long and wait for the video or some news from A2Aaddman wrote:I totally agree with this, I'm just curious.Mickel wrote:I find it a pleasant change to be able to read this thread without the incessant 'are we there yet?' that seems to be the endless theme of other such forums. I'm really looking forward to the Connie too but hold myself over with videos of R-3350 engine starts like this one...

And that video of the night Connie takeoff is just amazing! Here's hoping the A2A Connie lights up like that at night!

More things to do while you wait - if you're an EAA member, check out Jeff Skiles' column in the November issue of Sport Aviation. All about four-course radio ranges, complete with an image of a 1945 sectional chart. Includes pointers about how to use them to fly instrument approaches, and some details I hadn't been aware of (e.g. crow's-foot radio ranges). A shame the Cal Classics ones don't work in FSX or P3D. Still... helps to get into the spirit. Unfortunately access is for members/subscribers only, so I can't link to it. But if you can get at it, have a look.

Maybe a few screenshots from the Beta team? Even the great PMDG has let a beta tester post of few shots of their upcoming 747.
Re: The Accu-Sim Connie is in beta
I'd love to see screenshots, too, but that doesn't seem to be the A2A house style. Frankly, if it wasn't for Jane Rachel Whitaker's fundraiser, I doubt we would have gotten even that single final approach shot. Was just looking back through the T-6 posts, and the order was video on Wednesday, screenshots on Friday, manual on Saturday and release on Sunday. Anything can happen, but I'd expect equally tight timing for the Connie - in other words, nothing, nothing, nothing, then suddenly everything. Only question is, under what zodiac sign. Scorpio? Capricorn? Wish they'd update the graphic in that ramp shot, just to give us a hint...

But we're not getting this version of the Connie. A2A is modelling the first Connie, the model 049. This plane is a C-121G with power recovery turbines fitted to the engines, which is what produces the flames. These were fitted to the later stretched Connies and not the short bodied Connie.
Sorry to be a party pooper, but at least you should be able to see some flames, just not like these.
Cheers,
Mike
