Selecting Engines in VR
Selecting Engines in VR
This aircraft is great in VR. I was able to do everything, with just a bit of peaking out of the headset now and then. Everything except select engines that is. The 3D pointer/sphere thingy seems to work on everything for me except that panel. Which is a bugger because you cant select engines with the keyboard. Although it's rather clunky, you can select items on the 2D panels with the VR cursor, but for some reason the engine selector was not responding to those mouse clicks. I haven't figured out a good way to select engines in VR. Does anyone have a solution?

Re: Selecting Engines in VR
I don’t use VR, but I’ve assigned 1-5 on my keyboard to select engines. 1-4 for the engines and 5 to select all. It’s done through the input configurator.
I’m using FSX SE

Re: Selecting Engines in VR
Thanks for the reply. I've tried to avoid doing that, one of the reasons being that all my keys are already doing stuff. The keys 1 to 5 are used for ATC communication.
Re: Selecting Engines in VR
Doesn’t the numbers only correspond to ATC, when the ATC window is open? So when the ATC window is closed you can use the keys for engine selection?
I have mine setup through Linda, I’m unsure if you know about this amazing software but it really opens up what you can do with your controller(s)
Linda has 2 modes, so 1 button will do 1 thing, and in mode 2, the same button will do something different.
You could :
With 2buttons (1,2)
Press button 1, select eng1, then, press AND HOLD button for eng2.
Then
Press button 2 for mode 2
Now in mode 2, the same button used for the above will activate eng3-4 the same way, press, press and hold.

Re: Selecting Engines in VR
OK, thanks guys, I guess I'm going to have to do something like that, although keyboard interaction is one thing I want to keep to a minimum in VR, especially on finals.
