Constellation - RPM Fluctuating on 3 engines

Post by M_D_F »

Hi, Perhaps someone who is more experienced with this plane than me could lend a hand. Three of my engines seem to constantly fluctuate quite wildly in RPM when in flight. When the FE is in control of my engineers panel he is continuously flicking the rpm switches up and down. The rpm dials are constantly swinging back and forth. Engine 1 however is completely stable. Is it normal behavior for the prop rpm to fluctuate like this, is it normal for the FE to constantly flick the switches and why would engine 1 be ok?

Do you have FS2Crew installed? One of the keybindings uses 'propsync'. This is the culprit.

I save a set of controls for the Connie and make sure propsync does not have a binding.

Thanks for the reply. I do have fs2crew but propsync is assigned to a key on my x55 stick. The rpm controls for the connie are assigned to the separate throttle joystick which is a completely different couple of keys. The two are not bound on top of each other. Good suggestion but I think it must be something else.

Have you tried removing the propsync binding and then fly the Connie again?

Tried with the key binding removed anyway and no difference.

I have recreated the same flight this evening and it all seems fine. So I'm not sure what that was all about. Hoping it doesn't recur.
