Every 2 hours in flight ... in the FSX L-049

Post by Guus »

Hi, in the manual it is written that it is desirable to close the AP every 2 hours and trim manual handsoff horizontally.

Where can I see elevator trim mode during AP operation that I want to match manual elevator trim to get a SMOOTH TRANSITION between AP on, AP off ?

What is the proper procedure not to bang back and forth from up to down for half an hour, people screaming etc..... :x

When you release the autopilot, you need to counter the “porpoising” with manual control inputs while trimming out those tendencies at the same time. Doing this every two hours is a suggestion, you can chose to do it more often if needed. The more familiar you are with the aircraft, the more intuitive this becomes. Soon, your passengers will barely notice your adjustments.

The two horizontal white lines just to the right side of the Sperry's artificial horizon.
